Just curious if anyone else wraps their ankles before a game or wears braces of any kind. I just ordered one of the muay thai style sets of wraps for this summer's season. We run on alot of uneven ground especially in our gorge area and my ankles are killing me in the evenings plus they pop and snap alot. Bad joints run in the family.

I sprained both my ankles in high school, and they never really got back to 100%, so I've got some cheap braces from Sports Authority I'll put on if I feel like I need them. Even then, we have fairly uneven ground at my field, and the braces just help in general.

Here is the thing store bought braces/supports suck and dont work worth a shit me I use tape and it works better then the elastic sock things but a proper brace is the best thing. If you sprain or tear the ligaments your ankle will never be back to 100% (trust me I know)
Stop worrying about how you look, and start worrying about how you play. Get out on the field and play paintball the best you can, not stand at home in front of a mirror trying to figure out if your jersey matches your eyes.

I started using knee wraps under my knee pads. It definitely has helped secure my knees more than the pads were doing. And for sliding the knee pads still help absorb/reduce the impact. If you're having ankle problems, it is definitely worth a shot! Personally I would try the ankle wraps that are like a brace rather than using athletic tape having to tape them up every time.
