Ok, I just bought a 2007 or 2008 (not quite sure) Proto Matrix and there is a good chance that the solenoid needs replacing. I have easy access to a solenoid from the 2009 model. Will it work, or was that changed from the previous year?

You would have to use a proto matrix/dye matrix solenoid.

The 2009 is a proto rail not a matrix so it won't work.

This is what you need...

i think he means a proto matrix rail (PMR) 07 or 08. If it is a PM7 or a PM8 Totes link will work

Good point a lot of people confuse the PMR line with the proto matrix line but they have hardly anything in common.

OP could you specify which proto you are talking about to receive the right info
