Both are great markers. I would recommend both. It really boils down to personal preference of poppet, or spool?

I would say invasion is the far superior marker for the price. But if youre dead set on a spool then the drone

Invasion gives you more for your money IMO. Drone is $70 cheaper though if money is really tight.

I sound like a broken record, neither. Buy used, save money, get a high end, have a fun time. High ends spools in your price range:
PE Geo, Dye DM8-10, MacDev spools (SO MUCH SEXINESS)
High end poppets:
G6R, Vice(save money here), Ego's, Bob Long Marq's (extremely smooth)

Suggesting used seemed like a good option when the invasion was $600, but now its $500 new which makes it a better option. And if you can find an invasion used it will save you even more money. The invasion, when tuned, can compete with most high end markers.

i agree with everybody else. the invasion is basically a G6R without fancy milling.

I've personally never have held or shot an alien but it looks like it'd be a lot heavier than the drone but I'd still have the alien just because its a poppet and it's macro-less and that cool (:
