Hey guys, I'm looking to get into pump play for fun. I have experience with them, but never owned one. My ideal budget would be the $250ish range, but I'm willing to stretch a bit if it's worth it. The requirements for it include: HPA compatible, autococker threaded, vertical feed. Also, if it doesn't have a clamping feedneck or on/off ASA, it has to be able to accept CP parts to replace those. Thank you to everyone who helps me out :)

Two main ways to go at or below your price point. 1) New Azodin Kaos pump, which is basically a pump Spyder clone. Has everything you mentioned, and will get you going for not a lot of money. Takes Ion-compatible feednecks if you don't like the one it comes with. I didn't like the barrel, but it's AC threaded, so no worries there. I shoot mine with a Freak. 2) Used sniper, meaning an autococker with a pump kit on it. Wide range available, from pumped Trilogies all the way up to Karnivores and private labels. Some have autotrigger, which might or might not appeal to you. Others might be half- or mid-blocked, or mini'd. You'll see some snipers advertised as being "CCMed," which means that some or all of the upgradeable parts have been replaced with CCM parts. CCM makes premium pump guns that start at double your target price. Cockers and snipers are twiddler heaven...you can mix, match, and mod just about everything on them. There are other pumps available new or used at $250 or below, but those are the two I'd start out looking at. Note that I'm not talking about the current Empire Sniper, which is a similar but different gun.

I started with an AKP when I just wanted to try pump to see if I liked it. I got hooked, and upgraded a bunch of stuff on it. Then, I bought a CCMed '05 Prostock. I suspect a CCM T2 or S6.5 will be in my gunwhoring future eventually, and probably a stock class gun, too. To be honest, though, the Azodin shoots great, and I still play with it sometimes.

Hope that helps.
Chris

I was actually looking at the KP+. It's one I've used before and enjoyed. My main gripe with it, it that it has a very distinct sound signature with a "fart", as you know from your experience. I also have checked around WGP snipers. I'm going to be purchasing a barrel kit in the near future, so barrels won't be a problem. I really like the single triggers of snipers but I'm more unfamiliar with them. Thank you for your input Chris  It's much appreciated.

I'm REEEEALLY looking at this marker. http://www.paintball...snpugun2k2.html

If you look around, you may be able to find a good deal on a NEW Empire Sniper. This was posted in the sale hunter in the forums a while back. If you look though, you may be able to find a better deal.

Yeah, my AKP farted like an old man on Thanksgiving night when it was new. Hence the upgrades: reg, high flow valve, spring kit. It's nice and crisp now. Also, Paintball Gateway is legit. I've bought tons of stuff from them. Don't know about the site with the Empire Sniper deal.

I figured I'd buy the AKP+ and If I really get into it I can pick up a kit to make it more crisp. AKP+ for the on/off asa and I'm not sure what it's called but the macro line comes out of the side rather than the bottom.. but something tells me I'd like the ergonomics of that prostock better. Throw on a CP clamping feedneck and bam.

I say go with the Azodin Kaos Pump II, which has a regulator, or just go used and find a sniper/cocker-then-pump-it. Either way, you'll be pretty satisfied.

I can't seem to find a retailer with just the KP2. They go straight from 1 to KP+

Also Orange, I'm picking up a Disruptive Kit(;

That's great! Not even ANS? Well Azodin is on a temporary break to recover.

Wow o_o good work man. I though the KP2 came with an on/off ASA and 45° macroline mount on the reg?

The kp + pump is good. Also on ebay they have tons of really nice cocker pumps!

I haven't found anything that grabbed my attention on eBay, but I'll keep looking. Good suggestion.

Actually the AKP II comes with just a regulator. No on off. The AKP comes with a gas through foregrip.

But...the feedneck. You can put any loader on a AKP, and it's regulated. And it has a hitman mod.

Trilogy is a contender.

But...the feedneck. You can put any loader on a AKP, and it's regulated. And it has a hitman mod.

I can just purchase a CP clamping feedneck if the pump I buy has a stove pipe feedneck. But that does tilt the scale toward Azodin.

Would someone kindly describe the sound signature of the sniper I mentioned above? It's a WGP 2K4 Prostock deluxe. Would be used with a Disruptive kit.

KP+ If you dont. Come on, who else can say that they have an electronic pump?
