Ok, i've been shot a number of times in the ears with my proflex, sometimes even 3-4 hits at the same time. my ears are fine. i can still hear everything perfect. why do people hate the ears? they aren't uncomfortable, and they breathe well.

They tear. And they suck. In comparison to higher quality ears on the Dye i4 and Empire Eflex.
If you havent noticed, a lot of us dont hate it because it sucks, but mostly because you can easily get better for the same price.

how do they suck though? mine arent torn at all. theyve lasted longer than the spectra foam. ive had to hot glue the foam in 2 places now on my flexes

Have you had experience with the higher quality soft ears? Seems like not. They are just a piece of foam with cookie cut outs for hearing. Not as nice as other soft ears, which means that it sucks in comparison.

I got a Proflex without ears recently but my local field makes us wear ear-pieces. Does anyone have some and screws for it?

Well exactly. This is why we say it's all preference when it comes to masks. The ears to some are pretty important. I know for me it was. But to you, if you dont mind ears, then why bother complaining when people say the proflex ears are bad.

What's one mask with fabric/foam/gel soft ears for the same price as a Flex?

Well for ears? It's mostly protection that bothered me. That's why I'd say probably the Vidar just because at LEAST the protection is there and wont tear.

People find anything to bitch about. I havent had a single problem with my proflex ears. No tears, breaks, severe pain, etc. (knocks on wood).

The ears on the Proflex are not that bad. If they were as horrid and unsafe as people say they are, they wouldn't see such widespread use.

Just do what I do, thread event ears over the stock ears. Best of both worlds.

http://www.ansgear.c...roflexblack.htm $62.95

http://www.ansgear.c...earpieceblk.htm $15.95

That is $78.90 The Eflex are like $109.95 http://www.ansgear.c...exmaskblack.htm There is only a $30 bucks difference getting an Eflex and you get the quick change lens. People act like these modified proflexs are so much cheaper but it isn't that big a difference. I left sale prices out. Because I know sometimes you can find the event ears on sale. But I also left out that the Eflex has the sale with the extra lens for the same price.

I can tell you first hand I prefered the eflex. I didn't right off the proflex. I had my daughter try them on last week but after looking at the ears on her head I was more than willing to buy her a more expensive mask. In fact I had her pick what she wanted. She personally liked the smothering Profits so she got that. But if she wanted a flex mask I wouldn't have let her have the proflex because as a parent I didn't feel she would be safe.

The ears really arent a problem, people blow it way out of proportion.

Yes they do have them on sale. As I stated I left out sale prices just as I left out the sale with two E-Flex lens. I left the sales out because you never know how long something will or will not be on sale. I wanted a fair comparison under normal retail prices.
