Dubstep honestly goes the best with paintball. Your opinion is that of very few, and editors want to please the majority.

I prefer something without lyrics and then toned down to provide background noise but I can hear the yelling.

Most the old school videos went very well with novice band's and just some good rock and roll or even rap. I do think dubstep goes well but a good rock song or rap song knocks it out. But you are right we are in the minority

some of the best paintball videos ever made was using up beat tempo songs with lyrics.

Dub step was a nice addition but dayum, it's getting old... Glad to see a production with an oldish school twist.

Someone give me a paintball video with a nice, brutal metal track in the background. Devildriver's got some good hooks and breakdowns. Maybe something a little more extreme like Nile's "Lashed to the Slave Stick" or something.

Some dubstep films rock, some suck.
Same goes for rock, rap and other genres.

You gotta make it flow with the music your using, and you have to show paintball, not just people shooting at something.

If the editing is good and fits the music well I dont care what genre it is. I have a soft spot for early 2000s rock and classic rap like in the older videos but some of the dubstep in these videos is really good IMO and they have awesome editing.

TRUE STORY
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

I like a lot of the paintball videos made with some kind of electronic music, but sometimes it just gets old. I don't really like that specific song choice in the video you provided either, as it just isn't my taste. Dubstep (or just any electronic dance music) goes well with a lot of paintball videos (from assumption) because its easy to slow down the footage and sync players' movements and/or shots with the beat, and thus making it look really neat. The same cannot be done easily with a majority of other genres.

I have recently found a band called HOGNI and created a paintball/battlefield 3 "crossover" video using one of their songs. They make some great music, and aren't really too well known. If someone decided to use one of their songs to make a video using a high-end camera, and slow motion editing techniques, it could become quite successful.

My BF3/paintball crossover for reference: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=K5kjRmQF3FI

Song from HOGNI I REALLY think someone should use to make a paintball video with: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=8PNrhbSsSOE

Although I agree dubstep has been a tad overused, nusic in that video just annoys the hell out of me, especially in paintball videos. I like remixes of songs and more beats and sounds than words, especially for paintball videos. It makes sense for them, and matches well.
Songs like down the road by C2C.

Edit: tried to give the video a second chance. Didnt work for me. No pumping up for paintball. No matching the mood with the game. Seems a tad either archaic or 2000's time, when every youtube video has music like this. It just didnt match the video much at all. I respect the dare of being different, but being different doesnt necessarily mean it's going to be good.

im a fan of dubstep in paintball vids. there are some good ones without it, but HK's vids just are amazing.
but Social also has a couple of vids, the 2011 vids are great

i dont care if its dubstep or rock or rap as long as the vid is good

try this sometime, pick a series of dubstep paintball videos, watch them with the sound on... then mute the sound... see what you notice about the video.... i find that most of the time, unless its a professionally edited video like the HK ones, the editing is choppy and not smooth at all, so using a mucis that is erratic and choppy tends to cover that up....

False, any well edited song will make a video. Some of my favorite videos have slower paced songs.

True, but to match the mood of the video and to grasp the true nature of the video is another thing. Dubstep just seems to go well with the video. Songs like these just dont pair well with the video. It's like replacing the audio of every HKarmy video with Paralyzed. It just doesnt work.

cassidy pretty much set the trend for paintball videos... sure, dubstep was used before him, but his videos made it trendy to do so... its a type of music thats invaded our sport... in a way, dubstep is the soundtrack to tourny ball... which i honestly cant stand... i would much rather watch a music video with an iron maiden or sabbath sound track, or some obscure punk bank, then skrillex over and over again

yup, i dont play tournaments anymore... my local tourny scene has been invaded with douche bags....

but, i was saying i cant stand the fact that dubstep has pretty much solidified itself as the sondtrack to paintball... i tried watching a couple pro event webcasts... had to shut it off cuz the music was giving me a head ache... i can handle some dubstep... but there is a limit...

music is all personal preference, some of the stuff i like would disgust most people... just because you like dubstep doenst mean everyone else has to...

See, I'm not so sure about that. I would like something that kind of builds up and then hits when the actions starts. You know how some woods ball, you have a period of moving and sneaking around to get in position. Nothing does that better than old metal, to me. I've heard some dubstep songs that have a good lead up but nothing like some of the older metal mainstays like 'Tallica or Megadeth. One of my favorites is a newer song, though. "End of the Line" by DevilDriver is awesome and I wish someone would make a paintball video with that song in the background. Maybe do a speedball vid with the leam huddles and tourney prep during the leadup, get into the play during the verses and choruses and show some badass bunkering during the breakdown. I'd do it myself but I have no idea how. I've never edited a video and I don't want to put out something shitty.
