I'm getting one in the mail soon, an nxt. Already has virtue board, freak barrel all American front. Sprung bolt, cp trigger, cp feedneck and a cp reg. Any other recommended ups? Tips and tricks for making it shoot great? how much consistency will I get from a 68/45?

Try to find an Eigenbolt. The break in period is long but worth it. If it still has the stock ASA then I recommend swapping that out. I have a NDZ on mine that works well, or you could go with CP to match the rest of your ups. You already have the others suggested upgrades, so that's good.

Honestly, just keep up on the maintenance and you'll be alright. Keep the bolt kit lubed and maintain it after every weekend. With your current setup I'd expect to get about 8 pods.

Also, if you aren't a pbn member I suggest doing that. The shocker forum there is great, and contains pretty much everything you could need to know about the shocker.

Try to find an Eigenbolt. The break in period is long but worth it.

  • All the Mg Eigenbolts are sold out
  • There is another run of normal Aluminum ones coming within the next few weeks
  • Won't have to worry about break-in with those.

Yeah I'm definitely going to snag at least one of those.

Are the aluminum eigenbolts supposedly any better than the mg ones?

They're the same design, just a little heavier and cheaper to make. They'll be cheaper for us too.

Well, there's also the fact that the place that machined the Mg ones didn't finish on the ID of the bolt, so they came out at .500 even, which is smaller than spec'd. The Al ones should be done properly, which will help. Just based on fit and surface finish alone, I'll probably prefer an Al Eigenbolt once I've got one.

How much would one of those bolts run me? Does it really make the shocker quieter? I know it gets more efficient.

They'll be less than $55, but they'll probably be about the same noise level as any other Shocker bolt.

They're still pretty quiet guns I've heard? People say they have an interesting sound signature. Not sure if I believe all the hype.

They are quite quiet, and very smooth. Shockers are a gun that have like an underground cult following. Once I've got more money I plan on picking up another Shocker to tinker with.

I must say that I can't believe that they sell for such a low price. But we will see once I get it. I've been doing some in depth research on here and pbn. I am really extremely excited to see how this gun stacks up. All my friends shoot brand new high end guns. So this is kindof a personal vendetta kindof deal. I could very well be soon a so called follower.

It's mostly because, like Ions, the base model left much to be desired. Get all the right upgrades that make it to your liking, and I think it's better than most guns available.
