No etek4's are bad. Alien Invasions are actyally better than the Axe. They used to be 1000 dollar markers, but they just took off fancy milling and it's 400-500.

Etek4.

No.

Other guns to consider in that range are the reflex rail 2012-on, alien invasion, and macdev drone dx.

You can love a bad marker easy. Because it's yours. But comparing it to the other markers in its price range, it's crap.

That is personal opinion. Spec wise they may be better, but some people might not like how they shoot.

Tons of people love egos and its shot. I hate it.

I think the operating principles of the Axe are superior personally. Now that Lurker is designing a poppet for it things are gonna get even better.

Alien Invasions are actyally better than the Axe..

I'll personally shoot an Axe over an Invasion any day.
Why?
Because that damn squared off front above the reg digs right into my hand and it pisses me right off. What the hell was Jack Rice thinking?

Is it really that bad? Because when I shot one once, I held it from the bottom of the grip, although I normally hold most markers like a spool. I was just testing it with only a hopper, so I didn't get a chance to try it from up there.

It all depends on how you personally hold it. With me, the squared off corner sat right in the webbing between my thumb and and index finger, and since I completely refuse to wear gloves, it's not too comfortable to shoot.

I honestly think the axe is an amazing marker, and its also quite UNDER priced- it shoots like a high end spool, has an amazing trigger, and is quite easy to maintain like a poppit. Great gun overall. The alien can be compared, but I do not like the look of it, or the shot. The macdev drone dx is really loud. YES IT IS! The proto reflex rail is another good marker, but the maintenance is too complicated for me.
Doesn't matter what gun you have, how old you are, what paint you shoot, who your up against, how bad of a day you had... All that matters is that your playing paintball now.

I completely agree with every bit of that except for the maintenance, but that's personal opinion obviously.

Empire should make a new marker with the Axe's drive and better ergonomics and possibly some other optional features/different models.

A high end inline poppet by empire to complement the high end spoolie the Vanquish? I like the idea, but I also think they should keep the axe as their premier mid range marker.

Like a poppet valve for the marker. As in their own poppet.

So not just a bolt but the whole thing? For the axe? Or their own (lurker)marker? Sorry I'm out of it

Aftermarket replacement.

What is Lurker looking to improve with the new poppet?

There's a new stem on the back which some think will change how far it opens. This is predicted (by forum go'ers, Ryan hasn't said yet to my knowledge) to increase efficiency and consistency. I am unsure of how drastic a change and whether those will be the only benefits.

The poppet itself is a part of the bolt assembly.

Where do you guys hear about Lurker's movements with the poppet from? The only thing I've found so far is a facebook post from 2012.
