Mags> cockers.
Nicer shooting to me, less moving parts, and reliability of such an old gun that smashes that of a Tippmann easy.

I voted Mags as well that's my preference for my Main Semi to this day. I have owned at least one Mag, often more since 1999.

That being said I think Cockers are very sole full markers. They are the guns you buy or build for the enjoyment of just seeing and enjoying there mechanical magic. There a gun that's just fascinating to watch being fired with all there external moving parts.

In my mind Mags vs Cockers are like choosing simple performance vs shear wonder and insane ability to compete even with the complexity of it all

Kinda like say a Gasoline or Diesel engine (internal combustion) (kinda like a mag) to say a Steam engine (external combustion) (kinda like a cocker). Both get the same job done, both are capable or mighty feats of speed and performance. Both are capable of incredible mechanical beauty. But we're one is all self contained low maintenance and very simple with few moving parts the other is open for the world to see, takes a bit more love and care to get going to its peak and in some ways is a bit more complicated with many more moving parts (part of wich is what draw many to this love of this design).

Both platforms offer reliable mechanical shooters that represented the pinnacle of the mechanical paintball gun. And both have and always will have there loyal followers. So I truly believe neither is the Better gun just different strokes for different folks.

It's really a preference thing at this point as opposed to performance, I'm a cocker. Back blocks are cool, sliders are smooth and cockers are rad! Mags are workhorses and great guns, nothing bad to say about them. It really comes down to I prefer the schick schick of my cocker to the chuffing of a mag.

Can I vote for both? I have 1 e-cocker, 2 mech cockers, a pump cocker, and have had quite a few mags and loved them all.
I only have a shooting video of my mag so here.

all i shoot these days are cockers... no matter what modern electro i go out and buy, i always come back to e cockers...

i've owne an x-mag, and i honestly hated it... it was big, heavy, inefficient... and even when tuned nto that fun to shoot...

i've been shooting cockers for so long that i find myself playing better with an e-cocker then any other type of gun on the market....

so, cockers for me

Slightly off topic, but this is an opinion thread so...

In your opinion, when comparing mech to mech. Mag or cocker?

Oh and in case this isn't unprofessional enough yet.

I say cocker, simply because you can't get lense bite as easily with a mahg

edit: my honest opinion is both! And an honest choice between the two is one i don't ever hope to make Posted Image

mech vs mech i'll take a cocker for the efficiency... i dont like how mags shoot, i dont like how they feel in my hands... and i despise how inefficient they are.... i've shto a few mags, and owned an x-mag... i will never again own a mag, or ask to shoot one

the answer has always been both:

The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

And yes, Gordon is the sexiest manifestation of "to the front."

Again, prefer Automags because I've just been more used to them, and look and feel less finicky. But cockers are pretty baller, and represent an era in paintball.

Both are great... I just prefer a mag because I don't enjoy the punch in the mask from the cockers if you venture too close! Though it is a sweet feeling to know your gun bites from both ends...

Wasn't there a beaver tail when you used the cocker? You should of been fine ;)
But I know what you mean. The first gun I used was a Phantom, then it was an Emag. Then an Xmag. Then my friends dad said I should try renting. The spyder scared me to death.

Beaver tails...psssh! I've grown so tired of replacing them, that I would rather have lense bite.

A mag does have the potential to be one of the best RT guns ever though. As well as their potential for carbon fiber beauty. I'm looking at you Antonius...

Both have immense amounts of innovation, but I think it is what players have done to them that sets them apart from guns today.

beaver tails are not there to prevent back block bitch slap... the beaver tail is there to prevent the user from thumbing the cocking rod to get a high velocity then what you chroned at

get a good beavertail, like belsales... if you keep trashing beavertails, you are using a lower quality product

there are only 2 beaver tails i'll put on my cockers... either the belsales element beavetail, or the new shocktech one thats a combo snatch grip and beavertail....

the belsales one is the same beavertail that came on 2k+ belsales and eclipse cockers
