I have decided against getting a new gun before upgrading my gear. So I already have a Carbon Fiber tank picked out to upgrade from my Guerrilla Air 62/3000 steely. My main question is what hopper should I get? I want to know what you guys think the best hopper is?

I know a good amount about the high end hoppers, I just want to know what everyone's opinion is on what hopper is the best one out there right now.

ok, I actually was considering it. I know Mike doesn't use any hopper other than a Pinokio on his guns.

Nope I have been using starter gear until now and I want nothing less than the best pretty much. Just got my red e-Flex today, with free mirror chrome lens from ANS Gear and it fits great, and looks great too!

Everyone loves the rotor from what I hear. But I also hear people are beginning to like the Spire more.

I think spire is liked more because it feeds all paint/reballs well, unlike the Rotor which can be kinda picky sometimes. I prefer force fed.

Yeah from what I have seen, the spire feeds the best. I really want a really consistent feed rate though. Will the spire feed very consistently?

Looking for a high end? Well then I'd say looking at the Spire. But at this point, you'd might as well pick what you think looks best, because they all preform outstanding enough.

Honestly, I think there's just too much hype around the Spire. Sure, it's a great loader, but I'll stick with my Rotor. Besides, the Spire is ugly. I lived through the 80's, don't really want to look at something with an 80's feel all day.

I would've gone with Spire but it tries to spin too much and the paddles likes to get chewed up (at least previously pro used ones does anyways). And the rotor has a bit too small of a hole. I like my v2, still does the job, but I'm concerned the Z2 doesn't have magna drive so :/

So my vote is old school with v2 if you can get one used off bst

Not to mention the rotor is durable as hell. You could make a creme brule inside it and it would still feed!

Spire is ugly!!!

But Rotors I've seen some to be picky on paint.
Also the Spire is sleek.

That's why you shoot good paint. Doesn't make sense getting a $200 loader to run $20 wal mart cases. If you have the money for one in theory you should have money for decent paint

I've owned every superloader excluding a spire. And I can tell you this
The pinokio is simple, feeds great, reminds me of a vlocity. It is kinda loud when feeding, and can be back heavy.
The rotor is nice, but it does jam every so often, and not just on shitty paint. Even wi the tension turned down, I was having a jam once every 3-5 cases. The rotor simply doesn't like smaller paint as much. I once had a batch of dxs bronze, it was .679-.680 bore. Shot great, but my rotor jammed 6 times that day.
The z2 is okay, but its just a pain in the ass to take apart. On top of that the lid has the habit of popping open when you dive
Ill be buying a spire as soon as I have money, and we shall see if it is as nice as people say. I shot peoples spire setups, so I know it feeds. Haven't played with it yet, but in person it looks fantastic. Pictures don't do it justice

Well sometimes you can't get a hold of good paint or you're just trying to get by. I've seen rotors go down with good paint as well.

spire > all
as long as money isnt the problem

This. Definitely this. I'm upgrading to it from the pinokio because, although it's a great woodsball/ backplayer hopper, it's just too high profile. Plus there's no battery life indicator, even though the battery life rocks, you kinda have to remember when you changed them last. The shell also seems quite brittle, so a nasty smack against the ground or hard bunker could be the end of it. The Spire seems to be made from high grade unobtainium that is almost impossible to break whilst playing.

Why don't you just buy the spire, try it out, and if it just isn't for you then trade it for a rotor + cash. There is a good amount of people out there, who are wanting to trade their rotors for spires. So its essentially a no risk situation, what do you have to lose?

I doubt you'll be disappointed, but if you are, you'd easily find someone to trade the spire for a rotor. The jamming isn't an incredible issue, it's just pointed out a bit more.

The jamming is really overhyped. It hardly ever jams even with bad paint. However there is always a chance it will, but even so, a small pull on the shark fin will solve that issue.
So in simple terms in 99.9% of the cases you will play fine with the rotor. Either way, whether or not you buy a spire or a rotor the same is in effect for both. You won;t be disappointed.

It is over-hyped but that doesn't mean the Spire isnt better. The Rotor with low tension settings will perform very similar to the Spire but will just be slightly heavier and hold slightly less paint and wont have automatic unjam.

I've only ever seen a Rotor jam w cheap paint, during a 102 deg day. Shells were starting to melt and distort. Was not a good day.
