hi, i'm new to paintball and im after a light, breathable mask, so far ive decided im set on the dye i4s, e-flex or grillz and money isn't an issue, neither is getting shot, i'm not too bothered where i get shot, i just want a light breathable mask, as i said, so what one of those three would you choose if you had the option?

i love my grillz but thinking heavily on switching to a i4.. Grillz are great as a one size fits all mask.

The i4 is lighest, smallest profile and less firm but very soft and comfy foam.

E-Flex is most breatheable, has super puffy and soft foam that is kinda firm, tons of bounces off the bottoms.

Grill is sorta somewhere in between in size and has same breatheability as i4 IMO, maybe slightly better. Foam is not as good as either of the others and lenses are anti-fog coated but not dual pane (which was never a problem for me) but it also comes with a visor.

The i4 and E-Flex come with mask bags too but Grill is $20-30 cheaper.

Grills comes with mask bag. I'd go with grills or i4s. Eflexs are huge, the dual pane in clear
In your vision, and pinch some people's noses.

Try them all. I say Eflex's, but the Vforce Grills or I4 may fit better for you. Those 3 are coincidentally my 3 top recommended masks, and you can't go wrong with any of them as long as they fit you.

the eflex can be a pain if you have a smaller face like i do, the black dual pane line will be in your line of sight and the only way you can actually see out of them is if you lower the mask so that your eyes are in the middle of the lense, not the bottom.

Double-strapping any of these is an option as well, although I don't think it is needed or very comfortable with the i4. With the i4 I think a big reason people find it too small is that the strap is very tight, but if you cut one plastic tightener out it gives a little extra slack and will fit MUCH better, at least in my experience.

I noticed with my eflexes that the black line on the lens does get in the way only if you pay attention to it. When I'm playing I don't even notice its there, others have also said they don't notice it while playing. So I don't consider that an issue.

I say get whichever fits best but what I love most about the eflexes are the foam and the breathability.

The black foam is only annoying if you notice yourself start to notice it. On the field, you don't notice it one bit until you...well...notice it, such as you slowing down your play or just coming off a huge adrenaline rush and you paused for a second. It's really just a bother when you have it on OFF the field.

Have you tried them on? If you can't, still, the grills are still great.

i4s fit great and also come with a mask bag. I love mine however if you wear eye glasses you might have an issue. Also its the nicest looking mask (IMO) and is very sleek. The mask lens itself is incredible, its so clear and all the different choices of colors makes it even more personalized. One of the only downsides to the mask is that your chin is sometimes exposed if yelling but nothing that could be a safety concern. Overall i love my i4s but they most certainly aren't for everyone's face.

What's all this about a mask bag? They all come with mask bags. And the I4's are great, it's just that they don't fit everyone's faces. Grills and Eflexs are a great universal masks, though people have their preferences.
