Hi,
I'm looking for some beginner, cheap paintball pants. I will go up to about $50, but around $30 is preferred (I'm new to this, so I don't know if that is reasonable).
Thanks!
Please provide links, preferably to ansgear.com if possible.

Save your money for a while. From what I've seen decent pants don't happen until around 80 at least.

pants are like a mask, you dont want to really cheap out. with that said, a cheaper way to go is get some knee pads(eclipse and dye are the best) and just use like cargos or something like that. also slider shorts are great.
plus. you wont really find any "good" pants for $50.

Nope.

You'd be better off with BDU, cargo, or khaki pants from the thrift store.

Save up a little, maybe up to a hundred, because you do not see good, or even decent pants for that price. Like keefanboy said, good pants don't happen until 80...
Doesn't matter what gun you have, how old you are, what paint you shoot, who your up against, how bad of a day you had... All that matters is that your playing paintball now.

The way I found to get good quality pants for cheap is to get older professional level pants. I got a pair of Dye C9s two years ago for like $50 brand new on Amazon. Just look around on Amazon and Ebay and you can probably find something.

If you don't care about your safety then go ahead and buy the cheapest pants on the market. I would start off with pads first. You may not feel it but sliding on your knees will catch up with you when you get older and you will curse yourself for being a cheap ass and not taking care of yourself.

I am going to buy a motorcycle. I don't care if the motorcycle is a shitty supermoto or a run down sports bike I WILL spend TOP DOLLAR for protection equipment because in the end you cannot have fun if you are injured.

I use these they have decent knee pads and a pad in the crotch to protect your junk good enough for me.
If I didn't buy so many guns for the sole purpose of fondling them i'd be a very rich man.

So I guess it isn't save for every renter on the planet to play because they don't have paintball pants?

Some renters don't some do. It is either save to play without them or it isn't. You can't try and justify non-renters need pants and renters don't. I am not saying I am against good pants I am not. But if you were a noob and you read all this stuff about it isn't safe without this than and the other would you get in a game were some try and make you think you need $400 dollars in gear before the gun set up? Again I am not against good gear and I always think people should get a top notch mask. But to make the game sound unsafe unless you use certain type pants is just wrong. I know I am right on this since most people who play paintball never get paintball pants and are fine because most players are still those renters you talk about.

I agree, we're just saying that if you buy pants specifically made for paintball, you might as well get the best and not waste your money with the worst when a cheap pair of 20-30 dollar BDU's will do fine.
Also, I'm not hypocritical about this, I used to play in orange cargos and a Hawaiian shirt.

He was saying pads were much more important than pants in the original post so your whole point is based on an incorrect assumption.

The 2011 LTD are really nice and durable. The standard ZE don't have a good track record though.

Wait till they rip^
Most pre 2013 soft goods from Valken are not that good quality, and have a tendency to not be that durable.

Bunneh has a good point, good pants can last you at least 2 years, invest in a pair of Empire or Planet Eclipse pants.

Get pads first, especially knee pads, Pants can come later. If your play style is anything like mine, knee pads will allow you to be that much more aggressive and effective on the field.

This is also a great idea. I know I used to use some sweat pants and I could never slide. Put some cheap volleyball kneepads on and I was able to get on my knees easily.

Nice padding and I think they run for around $40-50. I'm not quite sure whether or not their still widely available though.

I use my snowboarding pants and they work great. They are a little hot but have great padding everywhere and since I already had them, I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. I wouldn't spend money on pants before I bought a good mask, hopper, tank, and maybe gun.

moto-cross pants are also an option. JT makes a couple of pairs. The padding is to help protect you from falling off of a motorcycle so I get some bounces off my legs. I use the Shift Assault pants that I got for 20 bucks on BTOsports. Just check their clearance on the 2013 stuff

This is going to sound weird, but CHECK OUT GOODWILLS. I went to a thrift store in my area a few weeks ago and they had Dye jerseys for $8, Dye pants, JT, and motocross pants for another $8. I didn't pick them up, so they might still be there haha. Seriously, look for slightly used if you want to find great deals.
