Yeah the whole day (saturday) I got shot out maybe 5 times. I was revived two of those times by another medic. Played pretty aggressively but yeah if they were at the very top of the hill i just told them no dice. main problem was running out of med cards and dehydration.

I still suck and barely know positions.

thats what my wife said when I first met her...

its not even just the willingness on the field to push and be aggressive, its the willingness and motivation to get on the field in the first place.

This pretty much says it all. On Sunday the Horde opening charge consisted of maybe 150 players, and that's probably pushing it. We did have a hell of a push through Merida and the whole north side of the field though. ;) Saturday getting pushed back to the spawn early broke the back of most players. It sucked walking back in with a full pack of paint and knowing you were gonna throw it all in about 10 minutes trying to get back out of the base only to find out you were, for the most part, walking back in alone.

Agreed completely, I found that there was a group of about 200 of us, within the entire team willing to make pushes towards enemy lines, so it was impossible to get a good group to push up with, because the only people willing were the ones walking back and fourth because they were at the front the whole time. A vicious cycle...

Viper Scenarios you put on an excellent event! Hats off to you guys. One thing that I hope they do change for next year is the line situation, waiting 2 hours to move 30 feet was horrible, that is probably more on CPX staffing though. What would have been nice is them moving the location for where people would pick up the jerseys and preorder gear. This would cut Down on the time people would be at the windows for registration.

Hey SOF, let's see you get on stage in front of 2000 people with 15 seconds notice and have to come up with everything on the fly =). Most people would just straight up say "Fuck that" and many of those who would go up would choke up and pull a "Have a good game", for the record it caught on at the end and I'm sorry but that was the most timid crowd of players I've seen (Horde).

As for the "Be a Hero" thing, all damn weekend, several suicide runs to get our lines to move up, taking groups of 5-7 players to try to take an entire field, 5 slapstick runs and eating shit on the last one and being carried off the field and finally an MFO for our team, I'll take it. I'd rather try and fail epically than just blend in with the crowd.

Before the TechPB staff started hitting events the general attitude about Mods was "Oh they're just Mods they sit on a computer because they just want to give people shit and feel big, they're nobody." I'm glad to smash that mould, while they were doing this.

1,200 for me and my dad, and that included airfare from Boston + 5 cases of paint, and a jersey.

if you book a flight early enough you will get lucky.  I got a round trip for $160, my hotel was $125 split with 3 other people for 4 nights, entry is $50, $15 for air, I recommend 3 cases of paint if you are gonna play most insertions so $210 for that, then probably like $150 for food and what not.

You should do it I did it as my first scenario. Im from an area where you wont see more than 5-10 experianced players per walkon day and it was the coolest thing ever to just see over 2000 people that love paintball as much as me! It was like going to heaven for a weekend, I am going every year I possibly can now.

Not at all. I'm attempting to pick up a T9.1 for legends. I know my physical limitations and can't run fast enough to make a lot of moves at the front lines, but I'm always up there. I figure first strikes will help me be as affective as possible.

I played LL4 with  T9.1.  It was a great time actually.  Sunday I inserted at the beginning and never had to reinsert again.  I just snuck around with 200 FS rounds in tubes and a 50/4500 feeding me air thru remote.  Final Battle was lucky enough to play in the two story on the north side of Bedlam.  I was able to drop FS rounds on the other side of the hill all the way to the cars at its base.

I was thinking about the battles and being in the tower. I would just order a case for the battle that we start in bedlam, or I could just hang out in the woods and work that angle! I keep imagining hour much more effective a good push would be if you had someone with first strikes by your side. All this talk is getting me excited!

I want to find that guy who was in the Ravine with me on Saturday and was my personal medic while I held off an empire advance almost solo. He just kept wiping my hopper and writing my number down every time I got hit lol.

Hey that was my buddy helping you out! I showed him this post. Two of the guys in our group were medics and they loved it. They both agreed that people don't utilize the medics enough. They said people would be walking out without even asking for medics.
