True that, now for our next topic to adress, what do you think the theme of the scenario is going to be this year? Anyone hopeing for anything new? Or would you rather keep it simple (Simple as in go take point A, hold point B...)

I bet the mission style won't change much. However, I am interested if the theme/backstory will continue as Horde vs Empire...

I think I'm going to whore my services out to any team that will take me this year. I usually end up just doing my own thing and just tagging along with random people at the respawn. It would be a nice change of pace.

I hear that it will be a new story this time but don't quote me on it.

That actually doesn't bother me at all, I liked the storyline of the last two years, but now gives it a chance to shake things up and start fresh!

I think it would be cool if some kind of VIP mission was added into the mix.

VIP Mission. I like that!

I was going to change up the theme for LL7, but Horde and New Empire are both 1 and 1. I think a tie breaker is in order!!!!

A VIP mission that makes a large impact on the game could be very interesting...  Such as maybe even doing an escort of the team general or XO or something along those lines.  You could see a huge battle taking place and might make some parts of the field move away from stale mates during the day.

Ohhhhh snap.

This could be fun, finally battling it out once and for all, for SUPREME victory!

Yeah, like having to escort the General or XO from one of the bases to say like the "Temple of Doom" for one reason or another, while the enemy attempts to assassinate.

Even transporting some vip from one spot to another. Something to try and keep the main battle line moving around.

That what I was thinking, this way parts of the area that did not tipically see much action could be used more.

Also last year I brought splamaster 50cal and was told i couldn't use it due to it's orange fill.  the rules however stated as long as it didn't have red fill.

I still suck and barely know positions.

I am going to try and make it for LL7. Is there going to be any .43/.50 cal paint for sale? If not can you bring your own?

I know there is no .43 cal for sale....not sure for the word on .50 cal though I don't think it will be for sale, so you might have to look through the rules of last year to see if .50 cal is allowed to BYOP.

.43 Cal I believe will probably be BYOP as they won't stock it, but again, when the rules get established and updated for this new event.

I'm lookin forward to finally being there early enough to get in some time on the open games at Mounds during the day. Though it would be kind of cool to see if they'd open up the airball fields for some pick up games for people to enjoy, but that's more of a flight of fancy and I don't doubt would be hard to coordinate.

I am glad Viper listens to the players as much as he does and takes stuff into account. Already fixed the issue with registration last year, so woo for that :)

In past years the 50 cal was BYOP. I would not expect a difference this year. They did offer it one year I think that was 5. Otherwise it was BYOP even when they offered 50 cal.

Look forward to having the TechPB family back running together at full strength! Woot so excited for this year.

Cyborgs are split evenly between teams this year.

HOLY LORD HAPPY.

Those guys literally could change the entire swing of a force in 15 minutes.

150 horde players rush into the city,

6 cyborgs roll into the city...

.

.

150 horde players walk off eliminated.

150 empire players rush hordes spawn point..

hopefully there will be more back and forth this year instead of a core group of horde players trying to break out but being promptly eliminated by a mobile tank in the city.

Also being part of a broken arrow was quite an experiance to watch all the Empire figure out what we were doing.

Open Games yes, but not on mounds or Airball. We are going to have more people for LL7, which means I need more area for camping. Reg issues are resolved. ;)

We have not decided yet and probably will not until we order the paint come this Jan.

Already being worked on. We will have actual paths and roads cleared for tanks.

You are referring to the track chairs. It will be discussed and balanced. There will be more track chairs for LL7 and we will come up with a good way to utilize them for the game and make it fair.

We are planning on 2000+ people. This means that the field will be changing up and I think we have an awesome plan for it... MUWHAHAHAHA.

Dont get me wrong, I love seeing those guys in the tracks, however becuase they are so manuverable, they can get into the city and the ruins and still count as tanks, they had a knack for charging up the side lines and wiping out entire insertions on their own, the empire players just had to follow them and put pressure on the hordes rocket guys,
it was aweful trying to play against them, I remember the opening rush horde and empire clash in the city, as the horde we got just past the hill, bam tracks roll up and proceed to open a big hole for empire players, in 15 minutes the empire had us pushed all the way out of armageddon.

If the track guys are okay with it, splitting them up is the best possible option for giving boths sides an advantage, without giving one side the ability to crush the other team.
(im not saying the horde collapse last year was a direct result of the tracks being on empire, However it was one of the many factors that attributed)

Too PC about the track tanks. They sucked. Rolling into an area yelling you cant shoot me and point blanking people was a joke. Split em up or net em with with a window to shoot thru  and be shot as well. Seen way too many people get lit. I applaud all the players who showed restraint and just walked away.

Yeah yeah i know i am the bad guy and gonna get trashed for saying it, but oh well.

They knew what they were doing, the players walking behind the using them as a shield knew what they were doing.

If it is decided to keep all the track tanks on one side so be it, make sure to even it up with a shit ton of walking choppers on the opposing side then and let fun begin !!

^ When empire players started lining behind the tracks I didnt know what to do.

I know I can't hit the track, so Do I try and shoot just to the side and see if a ball hits the line? Do I just get up and leave without even trying something?
Your not the "bad guy" in the sense, However we are also not the "Good guys" its a unclear, muddy choice with mixed reactions and undetermined consequences, Do I hit the guys in the line and risk hitting the track player 5x more becuase he's literally being used as a bunker? Do I just try gogging the track player, forcing him to stop and wipe his mask giving wasting time until the instertion, and thus our rockets come? Do I just put my hands up and walk away, Coming all this was to chicago to run to a invincible opponent and walk back to my spawn without shooting a single ball?

Hey, trying new stuff sometimes mean we have to experiance it. sometimes things are not perfect, thats okay. Thats why we are human and we discuss idea's, Right after LL6 the forums EXPLODED with suggestions on how to deal with the tracks, or the cyborgs as we have come to known it,

Spoiler

I believe last I heard they were making a special netting frame to protect the tracked players from nerfs so they could be rocketed like tanks.

Wait, is that Orange ^ ?

Also a "Windshield"(any plastic window) on the track chairs will be cool if possible. Evading or goging is my only option against tanks since I don't own a launcher. I am positive someone will, but will they be there when you need them?

Per Sean Scott on Facebook:

Field changes for Living Legends 7: The entire Central Park will be in play. This means the netting will follow down the road. Every hour there is a battle between 2 legions. This battle will be moved to the area not in use by wastelands/snake run area. This will take 1/5th of the players off every hour freeing up more room on the main playing field to run missions and play. Another 1/5th of the players will also have to come off the secondary field and then get paint/air and head back to the main field. So, this means 2/5th of the players can be off the main playing field.

The Last Battle field will be more than doubling in size pulling in Jungle of Doom. This is necessary for the safety of the players and in order to hold more people.

So this means that the traditional chrono area will be completely enclosed within the field?  Where will the actual chrono location be?

Extending further into the jungle of doom?  Whoa that sounds like fun.  Will the flag stations be spread out?  I ask because previously (as in LL3-6), the trail on the woods doesn't really allow for significant activity- if one side dropped the ball, it allowed for slightly wrapping the hill.  Whatever the case, I just hope that the boundaries will be clearly marked, this wasn't as much of a problem last year but, in previous years it has been a source of confusion.

I think there was talk of having two flag stations on the hill and then more in the woods (1 or 2).  Can't confirm or deny that as my access to facebook at the office is limited, and i think it was stated later in the facebook post.

As for the chrono station I think it was mentioned a little while back that the main chrono area would be closed, once the rules/opening speaches start.  After that, there will be a chrono station at each teams insertion point.  Please don't take this as gospel as this is just stuff I've heard or read somewhere else.  This is just how I interpreted what I saw.

I'm guessing there will be at least two chrono stations, one going out to each main base.  I'm also throwing out a huge guess and assuming the boundary for the final battle will be the road running the length of the field will be the northern and eastern boundary and the trail running straight north from the now bedlam corner will be the western boundary.  Flags will probably include one on top of the temple of doom, one midways into the jungle or in the current gauntlet trail running parralel to bedlam and armageddon (the northern boundary from the last years), then possibly three on the current center hill between bedlam and armaggedon.  Again, pure speculation.

Once I see a map from Sean or Viper I'll update the top stickys to keep people informed and up to date.

Cheevo has it right essentially. They are moving a couple of the slapsticks over to spread it out and move some of the action off the hill, resulting in one being located in Jungle of Doom, and another one or two in the woods to the side of the Bedlam/Arma mid field.
