After losing the headband I've been using I'm looking for some new headgear. Obviously Sandana has quite the reputation, but TBH I don't really know much about what makes them so great other than style. I tried on a friends pro-line once and the material seemed itchy and there wan't much padding other than the terry cloth. I am aware however that a lot of people wear a pro-line + headband over that so that's an option too but I don't really need the netting.

As for Full Clip I've read that they have the most bounce padding (a big plus for me, I hate forehead shots) and from the pictures on ANS the material looks like it might be more comfortable. Right now I'm leaning toward Full Clip unless there's something I'm missing, are some Sandanas made with different material and/or padding?

The patterns available don't matter to me TBH but it does seem like Sandana wins in that regard.

Sandanas are actually pretty thin, its mostly the prints why they are so popular. I've never used a full clip one, but I've used a dye head wrap with an a hk headband and barely felt the hit.

The full clip ones are the shit. I have one its amazing. I have not felt sandana, but when I was at ANS I compared the Full Clip to Dye, PE, and I think KM. Full clip actually has padding and the material that makes it up is super nice. Get a FULL CLIP YOU WON't regret it. I have casino red with netting

Meh I wasn't a fan of the sandana, despite it's popularity. Thin, and velcro is annoying. Must be the nostalgic appeal of getting back to paintball's early days.
I say get the Full Clip, or Disruptive Headband/sandana. Most amount of legal padding, and sick designs, from both.

The sandana is super popular because people want to look "agg"... If you want good protection then the sandana isn't for you

Please don't use agg and sandana in the same sentence.

Looks like I'm going with Full Clip though since they're about the same price and seem to offer a lot more performance.

I've got a beanie too, it's just too hot for the summer.

I know what you mean. I am willing to sacrifice my comfort for protection though.

I also use a beanie, and while it's hot as fuck, it offers excellent protection.  Plus it has a pompom on the top

Full Clip headbands are fantastic. Nicely padded, comfortable material, and can either have the netting or not depending on what you want. Amazing shit. It only took me trying one on in my local shop to get my money.
