I am looking for my first gun and i am still trying to figure out what i want. these are my choices and why i want it. i want to buy new.

2011 proto rail. soft on paint, quiet, smooth shot.

Gog extcy, case and smooth shot, on off asa

Dangerous power g4, looks, on off asa, low rise clamping feedneck

gog envy, case, price

azodin zenith is it any good or just skip it.

I play mostly airball and speedball but would like to play woodsball ever once and a while.

any other choices would be great but that is all i can think of.

any help would be great and pls dont just say that is better or this is better please give reasons.

I would get the rail, they are great shooters. It has a hyper 3 reg, which is the same one off of a DM13. It also uses the eye pipe system like other high end dye guns. The only think I don't like about it is the efficiency... Or lack thereof. At most you'll be getting about 5-6 pods off of a 68/4500.

Also, what other gear do you have?

Rail or the extcy both are great guns and about the tank both 48and 50 are great for shorter players, pick with ever one feels the best to you

What mask do you have? An added bonus I forgot to mention about the rail is that the maintenance is really simple and pretty easy.

I'd go extcy little more Efficient and has a on /off Asa but both are great choices

An added bonus I forgot to mention about the rail is that the maintenance is really simple and pretty easy.

Both guns are really easy to maintain

The eXTCy and Rail will shoot very similar. You can literally pick off of looks, what comes in the box, or the features that are more important to you. The best option would be to hold both if you can.

I would watch the reviews on the GOG extcy and the Proto rail on techpb's youtube channel and see witch one in your opinion is better. Also if you see someone at the field with with either gun ask them if you can shoot it to get a feel of what you want. Hope this helped and welcome to paintball  :)

I have a weakness for Protos, but the GoG has the advantages with the ASA and feed neck. Didn't stop me from buying a Rail though.

Nothing. Most of the people who dislike it are bandwagoners and have never even held the marker. It's not a bad marker, there are just "better" options.

They can have issues straight out of the box like leaking macro fittings and they are less efficient and not as smooth as other markers in the price range. They still get the job done at the end of the day if you know how to care for them.

both guns have different modes the extcy has more, the trigger is completely objective

and you cant maintain the reg on the extcy yourself...

The Etek is a much better value, I would go with that for sure.

yes, there is a way to increase the max rof, but I believe the board is capped at 17. The trigger isn't that bad. Its not amazing, but its not bad.

Yeah, You will probably never end up using 17bps though. Most fields have a cap at 12.5 - 15 bps. The G4 isn't that bad of a gun. If you get it from a paintball store that backs their products and you know how to maintain a gun it's a no brainer to use. I have the G4. Had a small leak from the line but the store fixed it for free and also replaced the fittings just cause he wanted to. The Etek 3 is a better gun than the G5 imo. Jump on that deal. Before you buy any gun you should do your research. I knew that the G4 would leak before I even purchased it. I just liked how the gun felt in my hands. Try going to a paintball store and holding each one and see if they'll let you test shoot them.

Get the rail or eXTcy (however the fuck u spell it) both r good but the rail will have more consistent cronos but the efficientcy is not too good especially if ur gunna get a smaller tank. But then again I don't expect a newer player to need like 8 or 9 pods a game lol
hey i play paintball

Yea, I so had a G4,as long as you keep the bolt lubed with basic baby oil it'll shoot fine. And the etek 3 is good for its price imo, like a lower end ego, and if you get the right ups it basic is an ego...(go ahead and hate me cause I said that all of u lol)

Spool users, please don't use oil on your bolt.  Not baby oil at least...

Firstly please post equipment advice threads in the equipment advice section. Secondly look into something like a used ion or extcy both of which are inexpensive solid shooters that leave little to be desired for the price. Never overspend on a first gun. You can get into the hobby rather cheaply if you know where to look and spend smart.
