So on the spyder website you can get the advancer for $99.99 (mrsp $189)

info about the gun: The Advancer™ is the first tournament level .50 Caliber electronic paintball marker from Spyder. Featuring a reduced weight and overall profile, the Advancer™ allows maximum mobility during play. Each Advancer™ comes equipped with the LEAP™ II Circuit Board by Tadao® which delivers silky bolt movement and effortless trigger mechanism. This smaller than traditional .50 Caliber paintball creates a smaller ammunition which means greater accuracy and efficiency, less mess and less impact for the player. With the low recoil of the marker the ball maintains a more accurate flight path capable of placing your shots within a tight grouping. The Advancer™ comes with the patent pending Eko™ Valve System which can get an impressive 3,500 shots with one single 20oz CO2 tank. You can operate the Advancer™ on CO2 or Compressed Air.

Normal paintball guns are .68 caliber, I wouldn't recommend the advancer.

Dont go for 50 cal guns, not popular or powerful enough. GO for something else like the kaos, or a used enemy or new envy

Doesn't matter what gun you have, how old you are, what paint you shoot, who your up against, how bad of a day you had... All that matters is that your playing paintball now.

never get a .50 cal as your first marker, you wont really have fun with having to go out of your way to acquire things, such as paint ( chances are your local field doesnt carry .50) sanding down the hopper feedneck on the tippmann fasta to .ensure it fits, etc etc

If your stuck on spyder get the Fenix 2012. I recently purchased it from my local shop and its a pretty fantastic gun for the price (150$). Its an electronic paintball marker and is tournament ready with psp and mellinium ramping. Dont get me wrong im already looking at higher end guns but with the fenix i cant complain.

The Fenix is the same marker but it shoots .68.

If you are looking for a entry level marker don't get a Spyder unless your heart desires on it. Try a GoG eNEMy, or an Envy.

Nah man if you get an Azodin marker you might as well be buying a Spyder. If you get anything below an eXTCY or Rail you are waisting your money, in my opinion...

Well I guess you're right but don't azodins and spyders have differences? Andi kinda agree about not getting below an extcy cuz you might want something quite better than the rentals they have in fields . since you're buying your own equipment too.

Azodin's are known as "Spyder Clones". There is a reason for that. Both use the same inneficient, kicky, loud blowback bolt system.

The only difference between the 2 is Azodin markers have better quality aluminum.

My first marker was a Blitz, and i can tell you will enjoy using the extcy much more than any other gun at that price range. I have an Axe and a Victory Ripper, and when i go out the the field for casual or team practice, i use my eXTCY. It is a great shooting, fun marker to play with, and it can do anything a mid-end gun can do. You will be a lot happier if you save up for the eXTCY.

You can always try to find one used for about $170. You just have to look.

If you want a mechanical gun, go with the GOG eNEMey. It has a really amazing trigger! If you want a electric go with the eXTCy.  You won't be disappointed with either one.
