The bolts would be either the lurker, boss, or infamous. And the barrel would be the pathegoen kit or freak kit

you wont get any change in performance with a new barrel, so I would vote bolt. Any of those bolts will give you a huge change in how the gun shoots.

Not too sure on the bolts, but from the general consensus on the forums is that the Lurker bolt is more tuneable, and the Boss/Infamous bolt is more of a drop in and play bolt.

As for a barrel I would opt for a DeadlyWinds Fibur barrel with a Freak insert kit.

Check out the Lurker power pack.

The new Lurker bolt with spacer requires no more tuning than the Boss bolts.

Wouldn't affect anything significant when you get a barrel. Bolts? Pick between the boss and lurker.
If you really want a barrel, I'd recommend a disruptive barrel.

There's nothing wrong with the stock bolt, whereas the stock barrel isn't up to par for what most people would want. Barrel first, bolt second.

Buy a Super Freak kit if that's in your price range. I just bought one yesterday while I'm visting in Dallas.

You doubt it but yet you don't know crap about it.... People may THINK they know me, but trust me they DON'T.

why isn't the stock barrel "up to par"?

Most of the Axe's competitors come stock with 14+ inch barrels which is generally accepted as the optimal length for pointing and bunker manipulation. Examples being the Etha, Reflex, FX, Etek, Invasion, Drone.

Except that the bolt actually makes a huge difference in performance unlike a 14"-16" barrel.

It does make a difference but it's not as big as everyone makes it out to be.

The barrel length is a matter of preference, i wouldn't replace it unless you are not satisfied with the stock one.

Get a bolt first and get:
Bolt: Lurker because they are the same ease to install as boss now and are slightly more efficient
Barrel: save $50 and get more and get a Pathogen and watch this review by Hustle:

I say barrel. My brother played with his mini a couple weeks ago. the minute i gave him a 14 inch barrel he said it was much easier to aim and he got alot more people out.

I recommended it because I like it... They have a video explaining it so I posted it for the op to watch since he is considering this barrel...
dont always accuse people of being "fanboys" just because they recommend things to be helpful

3 pods more with a new bolt that costs the same as a barrel that would give me half a pod? You take a guess at what i bought first.

Both a Bolt and Barrel are important upgrades for the AXE. It also needs tuned .....

I have a BOSS V2 bolt in my AXE and think it works great, a lot of shooting ZERO problems. I have heard good things about the Lurker Bolt.

The barrel will make the biggest difference, but not because it is longer or shorter, it has to do with the bore size. The stock barrel on the AXE is a .691 bore, way-way-way overbore. The AXE really benefits from underboring. The first upgrade I would make is an underbore barrel. Depending on your budget you can get a LUKER barrel with a .678 bore for as little as $40 or you can spend $100 for a really great barrel, the DEADLYWIND FIBUR with a couple of inserts.

If you can swing $65, Lurker offers their AXE power-pack with includes of the their fine barrels (get the .678) , their bolt and some Lurker lube.

http://www.lurkerpb....lt-lurker-lube/

Good luck!

That lurker Axe power pack is a pretty sweet deal. If I had an Axe I'd be all over that.
