with the Gryphon, tippmann seems to be entering the "speedball" market, unfortunately, even when it has the same internals as a 98 pretty much, and being really cheap, most players over you know, over 12 years old wont dare to buy because it looks kinda funny or toy-ish specially the red one, so, USING PHOTOSHOP, i decided to modify a regular custom 98 to make it a bit shorter (valve assembly might need to be factory redesigned in real life though) and also less bulky, wich is why some people dont like it for speed ball.. to in my oppinion make a starter, reliable, mechanical (e-grip upgradeable), appealing marker that can be bought by a wider range of estarting players regardless of their age, so, here is my photo comparison of a all stock c-98 and what i would call the 98 evolution: 98-2.jpg 147.58KB 0 downloads TP 98 EVOLUTION.jpg 225.9KB 1 downloads
my 98 evolution would feature:
shorter /smaller all metal receiver
center feed with tool less clamping feedneck
12 or 14 inch barrel
dovetail mounted ASA.
This was made with the tippmann lovers and haters in mind alike. enjoy!
