Current specs are in my sig, stock clocks. I have a 1440x900 monitor.  I can run BF3 on high settings with 40 or so FPS.  I want to upgrade to a card that will let me run BF3/4 on Ultra and at Full HD.

I bought my 7770 from Microcenter with a 2 year replacement plan, this plan let's you trade in your card for money off an upgraded card.  I am looking for a card about $200-$250 in total, will this be enough to get the job done?

I was thinking a 660 or 760, after using a 7770 as my first card, I don't want to buy an AMD card.

Get a 760's or wait for a 670 when they're on sale.

if you want to spend roughly $250, then i'd stretch your budget a little and get a 7970.

not sure why exactly you dont want to go AMD again, but for the $300 price tag of the 7970 right now, there isn't a single nvidia card that can compete.

another thing to consider, with this next gen of games, you can expect VRAM to become more important as time goes on. if you want to 'future proof', then getting a card with more VRAM will be extremely beneficial.

essentially what im saying is, if you're spending under $400 on a GPU right now, you would be insane NOT to go AMD.

Ok cool, thanks. I spoke with Blade of Grass today, he has the exact same 7770 as me. Both of our cards won't overclock. Now I'm not concerned about AMD cards, so I will try to save for that. That will last me for years too.

Might as well ask in this thread - I need another HDD, is it worth it to go for space or performance? Strictly for installing games, nothing else. I might get a cheap 1TB, I don't play much anyway.

the 79XX AMD cards are actually pretty well known for how well they overclock. My 7970 is well over stock clocks.

just keep in mind that overclocking is never a guarantee, but with the 79XX series cards you can expect to get over 1GHz relatively easily.

as for the HDD, you dont need anything too crazy to run games off of. a WD Blue or Black will handle any gaming with ease.

Wait for Volcanic island, AMD does a great job on GPUs, I think we just bought a bad card.

Ive got a 7850... and like every AMD card... micro stutters everywhere. Quite noticable sadly, atleast to me.

If youre going to go with the green side.. get a 760 probably. I think its fairly equal to a 670, if not tiny bit more..
