Hmmm Wolf is leading, Necro is XO'ing, and Midnight Angelz is XO'ing for the other side? Even more reason to go to the Clowns now...

Not sure but that's what it's been in the past as well as at their last big event this summer.  Also I think Ryan O is a member of one of PBX's sponsored teams.

For those that did not attend or did not hear. The clowns were overrun and defeated at the hands of the Zombies for the First and Only time in the game. The final score was 600 - 350. Congrats to Mike for fighting an uphill battle and pulling out the win!!

Hearing it was a blood bath and a hard fought game.

Post up stories!

I played for the zombies under Mike and it was a fun day. For the first half of the day the front line went (reference the map above) just from the left of 2 to where you can see the bus to the left of 7. Zombies occupied 8-6-3 and partially 2 with our spawn being at 8. The clowns were held up in 1- 5- 4 part of 2 and slowly being pushed back into 7, I started out the day helping fight for 2 but after i came back from my first refill of paint and air we had lost most of 2 and  i couldnt get any good positions to fight for it as most bunkers that were meant for 2 people had 4-5 behind them so most of my time was spent more towards 7. The 2 key spots for 7 were the bus and the tower (can be seen on the map as a backwards/sideways question mark). Near the end of the first half of the day (before the first reset/lunch break) the we finally pushed all the way into 7 and had the clowns into the parking lot. We def. needed people to be more aggressive and filling in the holes up front but still was fun.

On a side note at one point i was in the building that pistolpete posted his video from and one of the clowns got up on me while i was re-loading/checking the other window. I had my back turned and he had me dead to rights (2 feet away) luckily he let me walk away without a welt. So whoever that was great job getting there and i appreciate being allowed to surrender.

yea there was quite a few curveballs thrown at us during the day.

I told everyone on the team how important it was to hold the bumpercar house (location #2). I don't know how this happened, but I sent over 100 players to that area off the break and they were gutted in less than 30 minutes.

Dragan (XO), Sam (XO) and myself took turns walking up to the net, going to the corner and shooting into the bumpercar house, and wrapping on players on the hills north of #2. We started taking flanking and taking ground at #7, and beat back some of the players along the net north of #2 when play was suspended. We were fighting like hell for almost 2 hours, and lost all that momentum we fought so hard to get. I think "barrel socks on, every player takes a knee" is a better way to handle the situation.

Moving the bases was not something I was aware they were going to do, or prepared for. I don't general games from outside the net. I stage on the field, I take everything with me. My gear, my radios, maps, tape, paint, water, towels, it all goes into the command bunker. Not only that, but my XO's staged in there as well. So when they told me that they were moving the spawn points, I had less than 5 minutes to pack up $5,000 in gear, and notify 200 players that we now have a new spawn.

This obviously led to a disaster breakout when the game resumed a second time. Dragan & I were getting shot at inside our own base, as we were trying to pack up our gear and bring it up to the bridge. At least 40 players ran through our base, knocking things over, and all of our stuff got shot up. Radios, gearbags, everything was coated in paint.

Seeing how badly things were going when the game was restarted, I cleard out the base and immediately ran up to the head ref. In the meantime, I had Dragan going through the pits to get players on the field and into the spawn, and I had Sam on the field directing players where to go.

I told the head ref that our spawn was comprimised (which it was, it was 20 vs 120), and told him to award the other team the 50 points and get ready for ANOTHER restart.

The second restart went MUCH smoother, we had our players on the field, everyone knew what was going on, everyone was in position, our previous base (#8) was cleared out, and when the game resumed, it was a MUCH more balanced breakout and the game was a grind until the standdown before final battle.

Going into final battle, I was pretty nervous. I knew the score was close (350 Clowns to 300 Zombies), but I was told that Zombies would be attacking. In the history of PBX, no attacking team has ever been successful in overruning Nuketown. Not only that, but our time to accomplish the impossible was cut in half. The final battle was SUPPOSED to last an hour, we were notified it was cut to 30 minutes as we were walking onto the field.

We had 30 minutes, to accomplish what no one else has been able to accomplish in an hour. I had no idea that the final battle was going to be an attack and defend, until about 3 minutes before it started. Had I known, I would have stocked up on a TON of smoke bombs, and fogged out the entire area.

I split up the generals, Sam took the hyperball field, Dragan took the middle, and I took the left side near the yellow house. It was EXTREMELY intense. At about the 25 minute mark, I had to walk off the field. I made a couple attempts to get close to the flag pole and just got blown apart. I was seeing stars. I was taking a quick breather, and I saw the final push when the zombies overran the field. We overran the yellow house on the right, and got range on the spawn. Once we were able to put pressure on the spawn, players closed in from all sides and was able to get the flag up with about 2 minutes left to spare. Absolutely insane

One of the hardest games I've ever generalled, kept me on my toes the entire time. Dragan, Sam Cundari (poorballer1) and myself had a 3-man rotation where one person would be on the field, quickly empty 6+ pods to push up, and the second man would go in when the first returned. Between Dragan, Sam & I, we shot 14 cases of paint at the Clowns while directing players on the field.

This was easily the hardest game I've ever general'd, it was just pure hell for 9 hours trying to keep the wheels on it till the end

Sounds like a well earned victory Mike! I know the Clowns wouldn't have given it up easily but all in all it sounded like fun.

I was bummed I had to miss it due to someone at my job retiring and I have to cover his hours until we get a replacement. Wheee overtime, boo no paintball.

Mike we had people use some smoke bombs in the final battle but the refs put them out and yelled at the players that used them. They did not allow smoke grenade in the final battle and i don't get it why but o well WE WON ANY WAYS! But it was a good game and fun playing with the zombie team. And that was nuts at the end when you ran into the bumper car house and shot for like two minutes non stop.

Had to make some breathing room for my players around me, I took out about a half-dozen players, and pushed about another dozen back into the corner of the city

But that wasn't the best part. The best part was when I exited the Bumper Car House, and dunked out the players hiding in the tunnel to the right!

I may not win every scenario game I general, but you are damn right I'm going to try to put my team into the best possible position to win as I can.

Like I said many times on Sunday when I was telling players to move up, and they started arguing with me -

"Oh you don't want to do your job? Sit right there for 10 minutes, let me go get my marker.... I'll come back and do it for you...."

yea I know what you saying I walked in the game like 20min in it, because my buddy was having some problems with his marker so tried to help him out. When i walked on the 1st thing i hear and see is you yelling at people to move up. I was really surprised to see that they took the bumper car house in 20min time.
