I picked up an Etek 2 as a backup / loaner gun. Has anyone heard of / experienced reliability issues with this marker? I have checked forums and haven't found any complaints in regards to reliability, but I heard a player say that it isn't as reliable as the 3 or 4. I just want to know what, if any, issues to watch for.

It's an Etek. Lube the ram every couple cases and it'll keep shooting.

It doesnt have QEVs as far as I remember just like the 3 and 4 so it will be just as reliable.

Didn't the solenoid manifolds on those break a lot or something? I remember hearing about oldPE poppits do that.

The 2 does have the qevs, but you can do the no qev mod. If you don't feel like doing the mod they are still easily found.

Nope just the QEV diaphragms.

I don't see anything about QEVs in the manual. It looks like they're needed for the star frame. Sound right?

Yep QEVs are only used with the Star Frame

Stop worrying about how you look, and start worrying about how you play. Get out on the field and play paintball the best you can, not stand at home in front of a mirror trying to figure out if your jersey matches your eyes.

If it has the star frame, you are basically buying an ego without the milling and a different bolt.

I'm not a fan but they are just amazing in terms of reliability, the only problems you should ever have with proper maintenance is the noid, which in every gun has a decently long life time. Really though they are tanks!

Tadoa is awesome with customer service, they'll probably either fix or send you a new one if you hit them up bro!
