Hi everyone, I would just like to say that tomorrow is my last day before school and I will be spending it playing the great sport of paintball  :D. My question though is, how hard is it to juggle high school homework/workload and paintball? I am usually a fairly regular player during the school year but now I will be going into my first year of high school and I don't know how much harder it will be to get out to the field often?

So, I want to know, how hard is it for you guys in high school to juggle the work and paintball?

Thanks,

Justin B.

worry about your school and homework first, paintball comes last. don't push stuff out of the way to get to the field, your work and grades will suffer for it. if you have time to play, great! go play. if not, don't sweat it. just focus in class and try to get as much work done in school as possible, while still doing a good job. don't procrastinate either. i can get enough work done to get good grades and still play once a week or every two weeks. really depends how many cores you have that semester.

Not that hard actually. My school groups us together once we hit 8th. On the other end though having the dedication and the money while in school takes a lot of work. I may be younger but trust me on this one. After coming home with binders full of homework every day, working out, and other things I have around less than an hour or two a day to even touch my gear.

Saturdays are alright but it's not like summer in which I can play Friday, Saturday or Sunday which I believe will happen to you also. As mentioned above me, put your school work first and paintball second or you will suffer later down the road.

It isn't hard to juggle school and paintball at all. Obviously focus on school before paintball, but you shouldnt have any problems.

cool, I'm excited to start high school. I think I am just worrying because I like paintball sooo much and don't want to have to shove it into a closet for a while. Even though I know that won't happen I was just preparing for the worst kind of.

Work first paintball second. Get things done as early as you can. For me, I had enough time to play paintball at least twice a month, because I prioritized my private school homework first, and got things done as soon as I could.

You all make me feel old.... Nursing School, Working weekends "Perdiem" when I can and starting to play tourney ball at the same time. School, Work, Paintball, I find a way to make it happen, anyone can find a way to make it happen.

Honestly, I'd pick paintball over juggling school. But if you want to do both, then you'd know how to work your way around balls.

Don't be an ass. Kids just asking for time management help. Justin the key to making things work is being punctual. Complete assignments when they are assigned don't let anything slip. HW, papers, presentations, projects, studying. Do it right away as soon as possible. Save paintball for when everything else is done.

They key to balancing (I prefer that term to juggling haha) school and anything else, is having the ability to say, "this thing can wait, I have to get my schoolwork done now". If you start slipping in school then you wont catch up and you'll have no time for paintball at all.  Stay ahead of the curve and know when to prioritize.

also he was joking, like juggling school or juggling paintball, literally.

School first. Everything else later.

At the moment, school will open more opportunities for your life and career than paintball. With that said, I do everything I can Friday so I can ball on the weekends. Once you get in a rhythm for school work, it will be much easier getting out to the fields on the weekends.

Also, getting a job at your local field is a great way to earn money and usually gets you discounted/free entry at your field-work Saturday, play Sunday.

But most importantly, School First.

Why not?

If you stay on top of your school work you should have no problem keeping to your normal paintball schedule. Unless you plan to play sports for your school, you may have games on days you wanna play paintball.

I procrastinate alot, don't do much homework, and focus alot more on paintball than I do with school.

That being said, I still pull off atleast a 3.0 gpa with taking ap classes and such. For me, school is easy, and doesn't require much work, It all kind of depends on who you are.

I'm a sophomore in High School and I find the solution to be pretty easy. Get all your work done on Friday and then play Saturday or Sunday. I mean, the high school workload isn't exactly overwhelming. I'm in all Honors classes and I still find time to go play.

I am thinking about mowing lawns on the weekends for a while too and make some good money and then I will use that money to play paintball when I have the time. I am planning on joining a D5 team in maybe a year or two also. The lawn mowing could help pay for that too.

Your 1 year off. I'll be turning 15 in may 2014. I really need to get some money flowing to me if I want to be able to play tourney ball. There are so many expenses such as tourney entries, paint, jerseys, etc. I hope I can get a few weekly or bi weekly mowing jobs and start getting money to pay for team play.

Its not too hard to balance school and paintball, just do your work you'll be fine. I'm a sophomore and at my school we have to take college classes (which is actually kinda fun) and I do fine; just don't do what I do and procrastinate at 1:34 in the morning. Also, if your school has half days of Fridays take advantage of that and go then. That's what my English teacher (that's right, my English teacher plays paintball), my friends and I do about once or twice a month.

I have no idea how to use a sig....

I wouldn't be worried. I got through high school while playing and working at a paintball field just fine. Just don't procrastinate on your assignments/ work, and you'll be fine. Plus you don't really worry about high school until the last year when your marks actually count for university or college. But just do your best and you'll be golden.

You kidding me? The last year hardly counts. By that time you shouldve already applied for a college. Senior year only matters for consistency's sake and the sake of completion. The other 3 is what they'll be looking at the most, and matter the most.

You kidding me? The last year hardly counts. By that time you shouldve already applied for a college. Senior year only matters for consistency's sake and the sake of completion. The other 3 is what they'll be looking at the most, and matter the most.

I wouldn't say that any specific year(s) are more important than the others. Granted that some colleges might look at your first three the most that doesn't mean you should just give the bare minimum your senior year just for the sake of completion. I don't know about you but I would rather do the work now and hopefully get ahead instead of slacking off senior year and end up doing the work later in college and thus getting put behind in getting my degree.

I have no idea how to use a sig....

No senior year definitely matters. But mainly to show colleges you're consistant.
