The Evo that i had purchased had bad electronics in them. The gog extcy is also gonna be a better marker all the way around.

Dud you don't even own any of those primary choices, how can you give good advise if you have never shot them?

How long you been playing? Is this ya first marker? Realistically how often and how much paint can you afford when you play? And what's ya preferance in play?

All that along with just comfort will affect what marker will suit you best. Most markers on the market today are decently reliable and will work just fine in most styles of game.

Personally I'm a big supporter of starting with a basic cheap mech gun. Something like a GOG eNMEy or even a cheap Tippmann (they can be had for like $30 rarely go down and in the case they do there easy to fix and most any field will have the parts needed to get ya back on the field.

Lastly. The best thing you can do for most ANY paintball gun is run It with a HPA tank and a good hopper. And the biggest things ya can do to improve ya game is use a good thermal google system AND play/practice paintball often.

Its a toss up between the rail and the extcy...

I have a Vibe, an older version of the gog envy, and I like it a lot.  The envy is just a watered down extcy.  It has a fairly smooth and quiet shot to boot.

I have shot the rail and it is also very nice, it has some more advanced features like the eye pipe also.  I like the trigger on the extcy more, and it has an on off asa.  To be honest, they will perform very similar, you can't go wrong with either.  Hold them both and pick which feels better

If you're buying new the best choices for $250 is the Rail or Extcy.

Check out my Extcy vs Rail thread for a comparison on both markers.

Marker- Whichever fits you best. There is no such thing as a better marker imo. The best marker will be the one that feels good in your hands and is reliable for you every single weekend.

mask- Whichever fits you best. Can't stress this enough, find something that fits your dome and doesn't slide around or fall off.

Tank- Whichever fits you best. I'd avoid steel tanks, best thing to do would be to buy a used, yet in hydro tank with some years left on it. That or just buy a brand new carbon fiber 68/45... or 45/45, but with those choices of markers I'd go for the 68/45 for air efficiency.

Hopper- I'd avoid the primo, and find a used halo, vlocity or something good yet still cheap. Should run used around $30- $40.

well there is a few options if you want to buy new u have the extcy and the proto rail and the g4 is under 250 on zehpyr right now i like the extcy except fo he fact that it has a unserviceable reg with out  aspecial tool and that it has a smart parts threaded barrel which is a pain and the rail is good but very limited the board is just ok and the trigger is really only for psp not very good for semi and has the annoying stell hose line but that isnt a problem the g4 i like the most because even from all the bad everyone has to say my friends hasnt ever had a problem and this is its 2nd year and it has a great board great trigger and if u don tmind used u shoul get an etha because if you go fo something more thann that used it miht be trashed

Proto Rail or Gog Extcy. I own the extcy and my friend owns the rail. Both shoot great.

There are good choices in the used market, like the mini or axe, g5, etha and older high ends, and I bet you could alk an etek 3 down to your price too
If you are under 18 and pay for your gear put this in your sig
