OK so My wife and I recently got into paintball together... More me than her :) She really likes my Redz Ion so i figure I might as well pass it along to her and get myself a new one. My budget is about 500-600. I've been looking into the  Etek 4 lt/am But I want to see what you all have to suggest. Thanks for the help!

used high end, you could pick up an ego 10/11, a 2011 g6r, a dm10/11 and just a lot of really nice used high ends, i would check out trademygun as well as the B/S/T section on this forum. if you don't want to buy used the etek 4 is an awesome marker, you also have the Macdev drone dx in this price range which is probably what i would go for if i was buying new.

Macdev Drone is a nice choice . EGO 11 is a decent option also.

I'd strongly recommend a G6R or a Victory.

I'd strongly recommend a G6R or a Victory.

I'm with this guy. Bob long markers are SUPER efficient, they are very lightweight, have fantastic milling, and shoot beautifully. The g6r is by far my favorite poppit (not just because I own it but because its the smoothest and quietest poppit on the marker). The victory may not be the quietest or smoothet single tube marker but its not a spool. It's an inline poppit (unless you buy the spool engine.

Long story short, you can't really go wrong with a bob long marker

Also nobody mentioned a vanguard demon, you can get on on ebay for 500-600, and they are super smooth and quiet spool valve guns.  For poppit I would say used G6R, for all the reasons said above.  Go try to hold or shoot a G6R at your local store.

A empire axe.

For what reason would you suggest an empire axe over a used highend?

Lifetime warranty, shoots better than nearly any other poppet and some spools.

Not saying its wrong or anything along the lines of that. Also not trying to be a jackass if it comes across that way. But let me get this straight. You would take an axe over a v1 victory? They are both inline poppits

Yes, simply for the fact that there's no LPR to worry about.

if it where me i would either grab an old mech cocker and make it really nice (but im guessing you're not into that). if i didn't do that without a doubt i would buy a vangaurd demonused the 2013 demon when taken care of shoots better then any other spool i have ever shot, and if not a demon i would grab a g6r, the g6r is an awesome stacked tube poppit, probably my favourite in terms of poppits. however if buying new i would either go etek4 or drone dx, i would not get an axe personally due to its ergonomics, it just feels extremely awkward in the hands to me but if it is comfortable it is a great shooter for the money.

In my eyes the Axe is the best shooter in the price range. For 300 dollars you can be shooting a gun good enough for PSP teams. I shot an Axe that was operating at 140 psi and it was nearly as smooth as a luxe. Like I said for the price nothing will shoot better. That's my opinion.

The axe is also the most OVER RATED gun in paintball history. No doubt. I have nothing against the Axe but its the truth.

Not really. There's nothing absolutely terrible about it, & it shoots smoth, nothing really overrated about it.

Omg 500-600 I wish I had that money right now :P. You could get Luxe, Vanguard Demon, Clone Vx, a new Alien I think, and my personal favorite the g6r :D

Also I have owned an Axe with the v2 boss bolt. Nothing close to a luxe. I mean it was a really nice shooter but no where close to the high end spools/g6r.

Not really a "budget baller" in my book lol, but $5-600 is a drop in the hat compared to most of the high end markers out there.

It all really depends on your style, but I would absolutely check out the Empire Axe. Definitely competes with a lot of the $1000+ markers. Great gun. Your wife should look at the Invert Mini, it is the same as the Axe, just a little smaller and lighter and a few minor details (no on/off asa switch, requires a few allen wrenches to break-down, as the Axe is a tool-less break down), But the Mini is about $325-$400 compared to the Axe's $450-$500 price tag and is still absolutely worth an honorable mention.

If your into the mil-sim style, check out the Empire BT TM-15. Almost same internals as the Mini/Axe

Maybe you guys can tell, I like Empire products. They seem to work well for me.

A lot of people also really like Auto-cockers, you can definitely pick a nice one up at that price.

I would say, buy something you will be happy using. Just in case your wife ends up not sticking with it.
