I am completely new to the sport, I have been watching all of techpb's videos and I am super hyped to start paintballing in my local field, however, I am a broke budget baller and i only had 100 dollars to spare so I made a purchase BEFORE watching techpb's videos...... that was mistake number one. So most of the people i know own spider victors so no one has knowledge to help me , I logged on to ebay and bought a used tippman 98 custom for 80 bones flat, now the gun hasnt arrived yet so im not sure if it was a good deal yet but MY QUESTION IS...... in the purchase discription it says the marker comes with a co2 tank ... but i saw a video claiming co2 tanks DO NOT have a pressure meter or whatever..... so I am supperrrr lost so can someone please help me define what class of tank i bought? this is a picture of my purchase..... That is a 48/3000 high pressure air tank.

For $80, that's a great setup

Looks like a pure energy tank. I have 2 of them kicking around. Have fun on the field.

A lot of people call Air-tanks Co2 tanks, Its just a common misnomer. You can always tell a Co2 tank from an HPA tank because they don't have a gauge on the reg.

Its also possible that the picture is old and the guy is actually including a Co2 tank.

I would recommend buying a mask for your next purchase.

well there were more pictures included including a close up of the tank, but it didnt show the expiration date, I messaged the seller and he claims he sold it for a friend, but hes stressing that for me to fill it with Co2, if someone was to fill an HPA tank with Co2...... thats a no no right?

personally you should of asked us first because now we can  only make you feel bad because you impulsively bought something. but the stuff you got is fine. next get a HIGHEND MASK no less than 60 dollars

Ya, its a ok setup but you kind of fucked it as you could have bought a good mask and used the rentals at your field, personally when I recommend someone buying a marker, I recommend something a little better then the shitty rentals at the field, but as splatsplatorange said there is really nothing we can say that wont make you feel bad, next time ask us. But as your next investment should be a mask (Profilers are really good for $60, also the eflexs are amazing but a little expensive).

Not exactly a no no but its not good. HPA sits at a higher pressure so filling an HpA tank with Co2 isnt going to end the world. Its bad if you mix the two though.

Just make sure the tank is empty and fill it with air.

you couldnt make me feel bad if you tried haha,

reason i joined was to get constructive critism and surprisingly i already got more help than i thought i would,

but if i do like the sport and decide to invest more money, i promise to ask more questions and do some more research on some higher end markers.

Is there any paintball site where i can buy descent gear at low prices other than ebay or amazon?
