As copied from Tippmanns page:

Tippmann Crossover XVR .68 Caliber Paintball Marker

  • Upgraded performance, easier maintenance and enhanced design
  • New venting On/Off ASA
  • New 15” two-piece barrel
  • New tool-less access to Bolt and FlexValve System
  • New tool-less battery access
  • New stream-lined Vertical Grip
  • Aluminum Lightweight Trigger
  • Soft Sided Marker Case included
  • Autococker Barrel Adapter included
  • Available in three popular colors, Titanium, Red, & Olive
  • New optional Barrel Kit available

The new Crossover XVR delivers on every front to take your game to the next level.  Now there’s a Tippmann marker designed for tournament players by tournament players.

The XVR is packed with performance features including FlexValve Technology which allows operation under 300PSI, reduces recoil and improves air efficiency.  The XVR also features an internal Gas Line, three position selector switch changes from electronic to mechanical operation on the fly, center feed with locking feedneck, and break-beam anti-chop eyes.  The XVR is dual air compatible which is the ability to add a front vertical regulator when using an aftermarket on/off ASA. The magnetically activated Hall-Effect Electronics provides 6 firing modes including Safety Full-auto, 3-Shot Burst, NPPL, PSP, Millennium, Auto-Response or Semi-Auto.

Add Tippmann’s unrivaled 2-year warranty, the fact that it’s made in the USA and yes, you can still “crossover” into the woods.  Best of all, at $429 the XVR upgrades your game … without emptying your pocket.

New corssoverXVR: $429.99

Prices according to ansgear.

I think it is worth the price, as it is sitting at the price the original crossover was when it first came out, and now with these upgrades it really is worth it. It comes in at just slightly less than the AXE, and before it was clearly not a good buy, but now it is VERY competitive.

Wow, Tippmann really took notes when they did those crossover surveys awhile back.

It looks like they included some nice new features with this marker. I really like what they added. The new barrel looks really nice too. 15" is a good length. I'd just get it bored for freak inserts and keep the stock barrel on it (if the bolt doesn't have that weird issue where it catches the barrel).

Happy to see this from Tippmann, they've always been great about listening to their customers. I never buy brand new markers, but at the price point I think it's one of the better choices now.

I don't see the problem with that.  It gives people with cocker barrels an option to use it on the gun.  While at the same time allowing anyone who already owns a Tippmann and upgrades to this marker a chance to use the barrels they may have bought as well.

Pretty much everything about the upgraded version is something I like with no real negatives other than the price increase.  Though I agree with above that these features at the $430 price point is terribly competitive.  I just wish I had mine in Olive instead of Black and that it had the on/off and AC barrel adapter.  The knock-off AC to A5 adapter I have locks the bolt just enough to be annoying and almost not worth using.  Hopefully I can pick up a few of these parts as separate pieces direct from Tippmann and upgrade to the XVR level without having to buy another Crossover.

At least they made an effort. It's better than not coming with an adaptor.

At least you don't have to buy a third party adapter.  Tippmann's at least recognizing most people have a AC barrel kit anyways.  A plus in my books.

Some interesting changes. The price point still might be a bit high in my opinion, but good improvements.

Tippmann is probably the best company when it comes to actually listening. Their adapter is basically saying "We know, we're sorry but you know we have to."

Saw ans post this on Facebook earlier. Pretty interesting. I mean, they did listen and make an honest effort to put out a better product, or what at least seems like a better product. Holding judgment until they get out on the fields. ;)

Why don't they just make it AC in the first place? I don't want an adapter that makes my barrel 3 inches longer.

That being said, me gusta. I like crossovers. They shoot like mags.

Same here! I think the market is saturated with these high-end markers and there isn't enough mid ends in the mix. It's those markers that are really going to grow the sport.

You need to start a list of guns you haven't owned it would be smaller than listing what you have owned.

I will be honest I would by the new crossover.  I have a phenom and love it and the crossover would make a good speedball gun for me.  But I really want the new Autococker after playing a day with it.  I really enjoyed shooting that gun.

i'm buying one for sure. This has everything i could ask for.

~Tool-less access to both battery and internals.
~On/off asa
~soft case.
~barrel kit(optional)

i really wanted the original crossover but it just felt like ''the gun that almost was'' now with these additions.. Time to be a tippmann shooter again.

I understand that the AC adapter is a good idea, but why not make it AC threaded with a Tippmann adapter? It would make sense, since more people own AC barrels than Tippmann barrels. Not a major problem by any means, but still.

negative.

You guys understand how many barrels tippmann cranks out? It would be smart for them to keep their threads. Also this marker is designed for woodsball players to try out speedball or entry level players to try xball this marker was not intended for current speedball players to sell their DM or ego to use the xvr

I am really happy with mine, I would be more interested in the toolless grips. The bolt doesn't need to come out often and I went and got a DW Fibur X and love it. I got the 14inch, but think the 12 inch looks better. The on/off ASA that Tippmann uses just makes the marker with tank very long (just bought a composite 48ci tank and a Myth G3 reg to shorten the whole setup, I'm not that big at 5'7").

Crossover XVR replacement parts are now available (mostly) for sale from various Tippmann distributor sites, such as tippmannparts.com.

The price for the venting ASA is $9, Barrel adapter is $12, and end cap assembly is $65.

I would say it is much better.  XVR has 1) internal gasline, 2) longer, two piece barrel, 3) much greater efficiency, 4) simpler operation and easier maintenance, 5) easier to configure board, and 6) optional mechanical operation.
