So I'm in the market for a used super gun 500-650, I have narrowed it down to the Ego 11 w/h or w/out dart kit and 2k12 G6R now I realize this thread has been discussed to death but because I asked the results will be different... Not really but whatever. So is the g6R to temperamental for a first time owner? How much does the dart kit improve the shot quality and efficiency?

I don't know about the ego, but my friend has a g6r and when it works it's amazing, but it's super temperamental unless he got a lemon, he has used it 3 times in 3 months and he goes every weekend

I would lean towards the Ego if you are concerned about keeping a (potentially finicky) Bob Long working perfectly. If you use the pressure tester and maintain it properly they can be great though.

I can't imagine the dart kit being needed or worthwhile.

Well i have a '12 g6r with the lp poppit and i love it.  awesome efficiency and shot quality.  I have a friend who has a CSL with the dart kit and I can say shot side by side the g6r has a much better shot quality.  Also the sound signature of the g6r is much quieter.

As far as reliability goes my g6r has never gone down on me at the field; however, because i bought it new i take great care of it and clean and lube it after every practice
