This isn't to brag I just needed somewhere to show my excitement.

Today after school I got home and checked my email. I saw an email from empire saying that my team and I had been accepted for sponsorship. I jumped out of my chair and freaked out. This is the best thing in paintball that has ever happened to me. Now my question is for anyone else who is or was sponsored, what was your experience with it, is it worth the excitement? Thanks!!

Personally I am not sponsored by Empire but from what I've heard, Empire sponsorships are pretty much worthless. Not to be a buzz - kill, that is just what I've heard.

That's awesome man. My team just recently came up with our first official sponsor, and have about 4-5 more we are waiting to hear from.

I've found that its best not to have a gun sponsorship. That way you can shoot whatever you like. But in the end I'd still shoot an Axe :3

My team and I have decided to not use them as a gun sponsor and get gear that we need and want.

From my experience, most sponsorships aren't worth it.

Pretty much if it involves any package deal, I'd recommend staying away from it. You save minimal amounts of money, and you have to get gear that may not fit everybody on the team comfortably.

The best sponsorships will be ones where you can actually talk, and meet the representatives who are sponsoring you, such as a local field or store. If you can advertise/work for them, you will generally get a lot better deals than a generic "package sponsorship"

Our favourite local shop has a sponsorship program at the start of every year, we're planning to try and get sponsored by them because we feel like that would be the best option for us.

Don't you get quite the package deal now with empires all in sponsorship program?

They are giving away from what sounds like quite the package now.

Well the diamond package deal is amazing, however we don't need or want that kind of package so we chose the pick 3 which is still pretty good, gives us options.

Paint sponsorships (whether from a field or manufacturer) are the only ones that matter IMO.

Trying to found a team at my school. Our coach plays D2, blah blah blah. He said he know a guy who could get us markers for cheap so gun sponsorship isn't a problem. I'm going to talk to him about getting Dye as a paint sponsorship. (Which I'm certain won't happen.)

I'm pretty sure (don't quote me on this) Dye won't sponsor for just paint, I believe it's all or nothing. That being said, from what I've been told (again, don't quote me on this) by a local team being under a Dye sponsorship, the full package is unbelievably cheap. But, once more, this is just word of mouth, could be total BS

Totally depends on where you live, Any GI I've shot has been utter shit, like complete utter trash, can't even make it out of the gun garbage. Premium was hit or miss this year, got better at the end of the season but first event was as bad as the GI stuff. Valken (both graffiti and redemption) has been consistently the best paint I've shot when it's been made available to me.

Not doubting that GI is fantastic and Valken is shit for you, just saying that what's true for you, may not be for the rest of the world.

Same goes for the small paint stuff I keep hearing about, smallest paint I've shot was a 0.685 and that was once, a year ago. Everything else has been 0.689 sized.

I can somewhat confirm this, I know a dye team in my area. They all have to use DM13's, rotors, throttle tanks, dye packs, I4's and dye pants.

The only reason they don't shoot dye paint is because its not what the field sells

I shoot the marbs that comes at an upgrade price. $60 case of marbs is indeed great especially in canada. But then again the $80 cases of evil is also good. Membership and sponsorship rules

The key to Gi paint is humidity, if its dry outside it shoots really well. As soon as it clouds up and gets slightly humid you might as well be shooting reballs.
