Beyond a doubt, eNVy. I wouldn't even consider the others at the 150.00 mark.

Enmey or Envy, depending if they want mech or electro.

If he is going to start paintball, get him to play for a while first before buying things. Maybe just let him use the rental guns for maybe a 1-3 months to see if he really loves the sport. I would also recommend that if he purchases his own gear, buy it in this order:
Mask > Hopper > Tank > Gun

This is the best order to buy things to start out. Tell him to watch the budget ballers videos made by Mike. They really help in terms of what to buy. The older videos showcase old guns but just take the advice within the video rather than the products/guns.

I would generally recommend a GOG Envy. It's a great gun and is electronic. He doesn't need that aspect but if he ever wants an electro gun, he doesn't have to buy a whole new marker. Only issue with the Envy is that there are a lot of upgrades that the gun needs (sort of). Some things that will seriously improve the gun is a new barrel, feedneck, On/Off ASA, and trigger. A blackheart board would also be useful to start out with.

Sounds like he is in Canadoo, the land of maple syrup and the majestic moose...
