So this is just a question of curiosity how often to mechanical markers tend to chop? I ramp at about 15 bps how many ball chops do you think I'll have/how common?

Thank you,

ThePBnewbie

depends on if you have a good force feed loader, good detents and eyes or not

A better question to ask would be "How can I shoot ramp with a mechanical marker?"

If anyone can answer that, props to you.

GoG enmey = no chops, just straight mowing people's faces unless you short stroke... Then you are fucked

And if you can actually ramp on a mech then you need to show us how, cause you have no electronics to ramp in the first place (duh its a firing mode that turns lower firing speeds into faster one)

Lol do you know what ramping means op?

And also the only time you would chop with a mech is when your hopper can't keep up to your marker or dumb shit like short stroking. I've shot evil and marbs through 98 customs and had no chops either because of the trusty old revvy (if you know what a revvy even is lol)

Well, an Automag RT would do the same, and go full auto. The video isn't of an Automag. That's an Autococker with an autotrigger.

So can I ramp 15 bps with a mech gun?

A mech marker is literally defined as one lacking any electronics, which are what enable firing modes like ramping. I hate to be "that guy" in saying this, perhaps you should refrain from giving advice to others if you didn't know this...

First off I called this happening after i clearly defining ramping.

And second yes please stop giving advice pbnewbie

Third, just buy a rotor and chopping won't happen

because ramping is a firing mode. it has nothing to do with single and double triggers. you can have a single trigger frame on a geo and still ramp. in fact people have put single trigger frames on geos and used them in tourneys.

They are most likely referring to other posts he has made like these:

If you are on a budget get the rap4 counterstike vest I think 30 bucks on ANSgear.

sell it for $300 if its good condition and save up and get the 2013 reflex rail I have held it and seen people shoot it at my local field and it is really good.

for $300 its a steal forget the reflex rail, drone dx, axe, etna, etc this is number one on my list. and holidays are coming up and I have enough money from all the birthdays (no one knew what i wanted so I got money) to afford this marker :D !!!!!!!!

If you had not known TechPB is all about thread jacking. Also OP all the info is in front of you.

If you mean ramping as in pulling the trigger fast and walking it then with a mech, in theory you can do it.

After explaining it and still asking the same question ? Give me a break. And honestly there is no logic to this thread.

- claims can ramp mech marker to 15bps
- people tell him he can't ramp on mech
- me explains what ramping is
- asks if he can ramp to 15bps (wait didn't you tell us you already could?)
- total derail of thread, begging mods to lock it (in before lock btw)

So ok I retract my comment and change it to severe lack of logic or common sense. Take it however you will

Question: What is Paintball Ramping?

Answer: Ramping is a firing mode in paintball that allows for a rate of fire that is higher than one trigger pull per shot. With ramping, a player will begin to fire a paintball gun as if it were in semi-auto mode (one shot per trigger pull) but after a specified number of shots (often 3-5), the paintball gun will begin to slowly increase the rate of fire while the rate of pulling the trigger remains constant. The required rate of fire to begin ramping and the maximum rate of fire while ramping vary depending on the circuit board used in the gun. Example

For example, a gun may require two seconds of shooting at least four balls per second to begin ramping. A player will begin to fire and after shooting 8 balls over two seconds (four balls per second X 2 seconds) the paintball gun will begin to increase the rate of fire. The player will continue to pull the trigger four times per second but over the next few seconds the gun will increase the rate of firing (the ramping) as long as the player maintains the four-trigger pulls for second. On some guns, this may mean that the player is able to shoot up to 20 (or more) balls per second while only pulling the trigger four times per second.

I ramp at about 15 bps

Ummm.... Ok lies?

Pro tip, use electronics to ramp otherwise its just pretty much electronic unless you have pneumatic assist.

And we've also defined for you what ramping is plenty of times, so can you make up your mind on what you are asking?

Buddy....

You are missing everything people are saying.

Ramping is a program in electronic markers. It sounds like you are asking if a mech gun can shoot as fast as an electronic w/ramping without chopping?

If you have a good loader and your detents are in good shape you won't chop. That's good for any marker. Also make sure your loader isn't turned on full blast, it can force more than one ball through into the breach and can be a source of chopping itself.

Most mech guns won't shoot as fast as an electric that is using semi auto only.

Ramping.... There is more to life than ramping and trigger walking. Stay off the YouTube videos and have fun playing.

Okay, back to the original question. A mechanical marker will chop if you don't have a loader that will feed faster than it can shoot. If you get a loader faster than the gun, which shouldn't be an issue, than it will lower your chances of chopping considerably. With that being said, there is always a chance of chopping with a mechanical marker, but there are things you can do to lower those chances.

Oh and I started out watching mike from techpb's videos and I joined the forum a few months later.

Guys I am sorry I messed up....I didn't know the proper word for walking the trigger so I used ramping instead because thats how I heard other people use it. Sorry.

No need to apologize. If you're confused on the two different meanings you can always give an explanation on what you thought the word meant. That would help clear confusion next time you ask a similar question.

You technically can walk the trigger on a mech gun. You cant really do it fast as the triggers are somewhat hard to pull for just one finger but in essence, yes. You can walk the trigger so long as its a 2 finger trigger and not a single finger trigger.

Hence, walking. With one finger it's kind of just...hopping on one leg.

Don't worry too much about it. We were all new at one point, and the only way to learn is to mess up every now and then.

It's the Internet. Your anonymous so learn here rather than in front of others on the field. :)
