So I have been living with my brother for a few months, and he has these two horrible dogs. I have owned dogs all my life and I love them. But these things are PURE evil. They chew any and everything. This morning I woke up, the chewed all my jeans, my caddy, one of my barrels, my old football helmet, one of my hopper (thank god it was my shitty old eggy), and my work boots. So what I need is help to make them stop. I have trained countless dogs, I used to actually train them on the side for a kennel up the road from my old farm. None of my training has stuck, so I was wondering if anyone here has a trick that I haven't tried. Any help would be good. My brother refuses to acknowledge that they are bad dogs. So please any help.

If you have a door on your room, lock everything up from them. Yes it's a pain, but it's a start.

Find something they despise the taste of and cover all your stuff with it.

Keep the receipts of anything you buy and if/when they do chew it up give the receipt to your brother.

Spray them with a water bottle anytime you ever see them chewing on anything at all to a point where you know they're really irritated with it.

Get them some specific things to chew on like just an old shirt with a big knot or two in it and when they're chewing on something scold them, take away what they're chewing on, and replace it with the shirt or what they're allowed to chew on.

Dogs do go through a teething type of process just like humans and chewing on things does help them so trying to direct them into what they can an can't chew on might be best or a combo of them all.

Better question is why are you leaving this stuff out and on the floor to be chewed on.

Rub bacon grease all over your brothers stuff so the dogs chew on his stuff instead of yours....

I think good old semi-racist Mel Gibson can help us with this one.

Don't leave your stuff out to be chewed on?

Surely there must be a closet or two for your belongings.

Look into kennel training.
When you can't keep an eye on them, lock them up in the kennel.

Better question is why are you leaving this stuff out and on the floor to be chewed on.

It's not intentional, they're big dogs so they get on counters, and in rooms they're not supposed to.

Don't leave your stuff out to be chewed on?

Surely there must be a closet or two for your belongings.

Alas, in my small house, there isn't much places to put stuff that hasn't already been taken.

Look into kennel training.
When you can't keep an eye on them, lock them up in the kennel.

I do, but my brother I think needs the training.
