To start off, I have never shot or even opened a box of marballizer so I don't know if this is normal. I bought 2 bags from academy (big mistake I'm sure) because I saw they were marked down to 12 per bag. This was around 3 weeks ago and since I didn't see me playing anyte soon, I told my mom to hold them for Christmas.I decided to check them today now that I have them and I noticed something. It looks and feels like someone dumped some lube in there. All the balls are slimy there are splotches of whatever it is all in the bag. There were no breaks so that makes me wonder if this is normal... if it is not normal, then I need to know before I load my rotor. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like balls broke inside the bags due to mishandling in the shipping process or when your mother got them. Then it sounds like some condensation got into the bag. In all honesty - I wouldnt shoot them.

Do they feel squishy? Not like a regular paintball?

It is normal to find some oil in the bags with the balls. It does sound like there is too much oil in yours possibly. You can dry them off with a towel and look at the condition then. If they aren't swollen and break from shoulder height you should be okay.

Its release agent. Empire paint always has a ton in the bags. Just pour some of the paint on an old towel and wipe them off before shootimg them.

I've never seen anything even close to this with marbs or any other quality paint. Have you considered returning them? If it's not an option clean them up and shoot them. Use a towel and wipe them off, look for any dimples, broken, or out of round paint and throw it out. You can test the shell by dropping them from shoulder height onto concrete and making sure they break ( not an exact science). Bottom line is you aren't going to hurt your marker or loader. If they shoot straight use them. If they don't use them at the practice range but don't let bad paint ruin a day on the field.

It's ball sweat. Normal. Open the bag for an hour then seal it. It'll go away.

At a local tournament a froemd of mine shot Marb with so much release agent on it they were slipping around the paddles of his Spire and not feeding. And this was a FRESH batch of paint.

I guess I've been extremely lucky, at least with marbs. I was really surprised to see all the comments saying this was normal. I've just never seen this except with cheap paint. One thing that helps us locally here is that the fields I normally play at open each case of paint when you purchase it and replaces any bags that have broken paint or other issues.

Its not broken paint guys, its just how Empire/RPS paint is. Theure a little greasy but it has never affected how they shoot in my experience.

This wasn't a little greasy. Took it out to the field and chopped ball after ball. Learned my lesson not to buy at academy.

I agree.

I see it on empires paint. Evil, Allstar, premium and marbilizer.

Chopped or broke on the barrel? We're your eyes clean? Chopping isn't from bad paint.

Did you drop test the paint? If it breaks from knee high its garbage.

I had a case of Evil and a case of Valken fate, redemption that would break 10/10 from knee high. 4/5 would break before they left the barrel.

My eyes were on and clean. The first game, I took it out to test and it was basically an automatic shotgun. There was so way too much of this stuff and it wouldn't come off. I did what slinkyaroo said and absolutely nothing happened. I wiped them off but it didn't help

I think the paint was too brittle. I like to drop test 5-10 from a bag before I start to shoot them to see how they will be. Ideally they will break from my shoulder height and not break from my waist or below.

I can't see the balls causing chopping, however I see them being too brittle and breaking from the force of the shot.

It's pretty damn frustrating. I had 3 different cases in a row from 3 different types do this to me. One was breaking 10/10 from knee height. Tossed the whole box after 1 bag. Worthless.

Last time i went balling to one of the local fields down here, every bag of every case we shot had this redish oil.. Most of my friends did not mind it since they were shooting rental tippmannsand not very experienced.. But im a bit more picky about paint and accuracy and gear.. I must say it ruined my day and spent more than the usual time cleaning my marker and loader at the end of the day.. Not planning to go back to that field any time soon (ever) i could not really tell wich kind of paint it was and it was a fpo place... Sucks..

taste it. If it taste like sweet shit, it's paint, if it taste salty it's the previously mentioned "release agent"... Don't ask me how I know this

It wasn't paint, but it was so much release agent that it ruined the paint

Ball sweat; it's normal. Just leave open bag 1 hour before you shoot the paint and the sweat will disappear and your balls will be ready.
