So I've never really been into pumps or autocockers until now. I've been looking at some and I'm starting to want to buy one. Nothing too expensive, maybe around 100-200. The thing is, I've never been too much of a tech guy and I hear they're a pain in the ass. So that worries me along with the fact I don't really know which ones to buy or which ones to avoid. Any help is appreciated

draguns.... stay away, stay FAR away. For that budget you can get a decent vert feed 2k cocker. I would go 2k+ as the parts are easier to find. If you post up what you're looking into, we could get you rocking and rolling in no time.

HK is having a streetball event. After that, I'll start looking into it. I was thinking something like an angel or wgp trilogy (I think that's what they are) I'm going to put more time in to research but I am primarily looking for something simple but nice

trilogy is as simple as you can get. The only thing I would do is put a good slider on there. I can't stand those horrid finger and a half hinge weird things they come with stock.

That looks like a stock 2k+ vert feed, not sure on the exact year. As for the Prostock, it depends on the year and if it's stock or upgraded. Stock, it's a decent cocker; the 2k5 Prostock body is my favorite stock WGP style.

looks like it has a kapp slider frame, I'd pick it up. If you do buy it make sure to cock the gun before airing it up.

I'll have to wait to see if it's still available. I'm not interested in that other crap And I don't want to make an offer Without even having the cash. I can get the money, but I'd rather wait until the streetball event is over.

id streer clear of the SR for a first cocker owner.

The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

And yes, Gordon is the sexiest manifestation of "to the front."

Do you mean the system x dragon bodies/guns?
What makes them inferior?

Thanks

That's what I thought but it's with like a bunch of other stuff like TVs and DVD players and stuff. He wants 60 but I think I can get it for 40 or 50. So either it's someone who doesn't know what they have or someone selling shit. Maybe both

Well, if you can get it for that cheap, and it works, why not. Here's a video from Cockerpunk sort of comparing the SR to a Karnivor, which is a "normal" autococker.

One that has a separate front block, the LPR, ram, and solenoid housing can be taken off separately, it uses a standard autococker frame, it's basically a standard autococker (except for the front block type).

You'll need to be able to underbore, or if you can't underbore, learn the tape mod. Since the SR is an e-cocker, download the manual and learn what all the different settings are and what they mean, and look up the settings people have used without issues, you may need to change some of the settings.

Tape mod

The tape mod is used when you don't have the ability to underbore, but still need a way to keep rollouts from happening. It's very simple and straightforward to do. All you need is a small piece of electric tape, which you cut into 2-3 thin strips about 1/8" x 1" long, then place them on the end of the barrel such that half goes inside and half goes outside. When you screw in your barrel, this holds the strips in place, and they now act like detents in the barrel.

Pics:

Spoiler

Here's a link to the SR manual. It does a very good job of describing exactly what the modes are and what they do.

The SR has lots of problems.  It works VERY well when it works.

The biggest problem is the OLED board crapping out.  Past that mine suffered a front solenoid failure, and the sear solenoid is finicky right now.

Parts- you simply can't get them for the SR.  If something goes wrong you have to buy used parts.  You can't drop another board in there.  You have to get a complete new frame.

I finally got mine back up and running and tested it out again.  Chopped a ball yet again after 2 hoppers full.

The setting for the marker were garbage out of the box.  Once I changed mine it worked great for over 2 years with the exception of the LPR screw backing out, even with loctite.  It sat for 3 years and then when I powered it on the OLED screen was dead.  It still worked for a month before it shit the bed.

I would avoid the SR like the plague due to parts.

If it has problems, I'll sell it. I don't really plan on that being my first real autococker according to what you guys say. I just want to kinda get a feel of it. For 40 bucks I mean why not

Test fire it first.... check to see if the OLED screen works.  $40 is cheap.  You could always part it out for more than that.

Yeah and besides it can't be too bad. I get the feeling the guy bought a storage unit or something because he literally has a lot of crap. He has two spyders and a lot of junk co2 tanks and shake and shoots. Guess this was the creme of the crop....at least if it works

No, they shoot and feel the same as a "real" autococker, IMO. The issues arise with upgrades and parts swapping, due to the proprietary LPR threading and integrated 3-way.

There a beautiful body. Ill be a first to say an autococker is preference to owners. I like hinges a lot of people hate them. Bodies wont make a difference a dye cocker isnt better than a wgp cocker. Its a matter of how there tuned. Find a good looking cocker, shoot it decide if theres anything you want to change, then buy what you want and stick with it. Personally dyes are my favorite bodies beside an old school sto body.
