Trying to figure out what proto gun I have. Just got this gun for 100 dollars on craigslist with hpa tank and halo too hopper. It has an air leak in the front inline regulator and i can probably fix it if I could download the owners manual for it but I'm new to the game and don't have a clue what kind of proto model this is. Someone help please. Thanks

Looked at pm8 manual on due website. Resembles the gun quiet a bit but the regulator looks different. Idk if the guy before me put an aftermarket one on or what but I can't get it to come off the frame. I can't get to the piston and I believe that's where the leak is coming from

Looks like a PMR7 to me.

You're right. Not a pm7 or 8

It's a PMR7 with a UL frame. The reg sleeve looks like the one that came with the Hyper 3, but hard to say if the reg is a Hyper 3, or just the sleeve from this pic.

Yeah that's it thanks guys. When I get home I'll take a picture of what I have pulled apart. Basically got it striped down to the stem on the regulator but I couldn't figure out how to get to the piston.

Yeah, it can be a bear getting into the top half of those Dye regs. I used a strap wrench and a vise...you'll need some way to hold the middle section while torquing the top with an allen key. Also, when you reassemble the reg, make sure you screw the adjustment nut the whole way in to zero out your starting pressure. The early Rails were notorious for letting you blow your solenoid if you weren't careful.

Ok so here is where I'm at. I guess the main question is how do I get the rest of the reg off to make it to the piston. Do I have to take the trigger frame off. If so I only see two screws on the front and back is that it?
