I recently purchased an empire reloader B for 30$ on eBay and put in some batteries and it works ok from what I can tell but I haven't gotten to test it on the field yet. I wanted to know if it was a good buy our I should have just bought a new halo too

I don't see why it wouldn't be fine. Normally questions like this are better suited for before you buy something, ya know.

It depends on what type of gun you have and how fast your shooting.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it doesn't work, there are tons of parts out there to fix it for cheap.

If it runs fine and nothing seems to be loose then I'd say go for it.

I would actually use a halo b over too... Personally a too is a downgrade from the b.

I would throw an anti-jam freeway if your halo doesn't have it and you will have one solid hopper

Don't run it with the 9v conversion. It's worse for the motor in the long run.

Why's that? (I kinda already bought it) but if I sell it ever that'll be included. Or as a backup because the six AA is a pain in the ass

I was actually thinking of something else, it won't damage anything. However, 2 9V have about half the capacity of 6AAs, so you'll need to replace the batteries about twice as often.

Well that sucks.. that's probably why it just came with the 6 pack but oh well. Live and learn.

I'm not not that nuts for the beads but the freeway for sure.

And yes the 9v converter won't be as good as the AA, and 9v cost about 2x as much to replace not to mention like wookie said it would run out sooner. Much more costly in the long run.

Heck even on my magna I'm running 4AA even though it was meant for 6 and she is just trucking along just fine.

As long as it feeds consistently, and doesn't jam you will be fine. Although I would recommend upgrading to a hopper you don't need tools to assemble and disassemble.

Reloader Bs are great. The only pitfalls are:

1) Motors WILL wear out over time. We're talking months of constant usage (so years of infrequent usage). There are tons of replacement motors and they were only $15 last I checked, which admittedly was 2 years ago.

2) Shells are pretty breakable, especially the battery holder. Always be careful when putting that one back in.

3) Maintenance is kind of a bitch and you have to remember where everything goes.

Other than that, and the slightly heavier weight, the hopper will keep up with the best of them. They feed fast enough for tournies and don't jam if you've taken care of it well. They're great hoppers if you can get over the maintenance and the breakable shells.

Maintenance is not a problem. I keep any and everything I own in sublime condition and for the price a new motor isn't too bad. I don't play every weekend so infrequent use will be the norm.

Luls. I used a gravity feed in a 1v1 with my friend with only a Tipman 98. And I rechecked what the guy said it was and my hopper is just the halo b BUT that works just fine for me and keeps up
