So I have a problem.. and that is that within a fifty mile radius there are absolutely no paintball shops.I found one but it turned out to be closed for a long while so I was wondering what I should do about buying gear such as pads and pants? Online and personal reviews are nice but actually trying the stuff out for myself is more beneficial to me.
If any of you guys could help me out with what to do please do so. I'd prefer first hand experience with the gear but so far personal recommendations are just fine

when you say actually trying stuff out
are you concerned with sizing? or how the product feels in comparison to another product?

If you mean you want to trying stuff on to see what fits you, I would say see if you can find someone at your field that is the same size as you and ask them to try on their elbow pads and other stuff maybe at the beginning or end of the day. Also, I know you said that you don't like the idea of buying sized items like pads and pants online but really the sizing charts are pretty accurate if you measure yourself. I got PE elbow and knee pads and the elbow pads fit perfect but my dad screwed up measuring my leg for the knee pads and I got one size too big, that's all though and they still fit ok. As for Paintball pants, if you get a size online that seems like it will be too big or small, it won't matter. They are VERY adjustable. I have Exalt Thrasher pants (I HIGHLY recommend you get these, many others on here will agree) that are a size or two too large and they are adjustable enough that I can still wear them very comfortably.

Hope this helps!

I'm located in north west Arkansas. And goingn out of state isn't really an option right now. And I'm mainly concerned with the feel of the product and how it'll fit me as a player. But size matters no matter how much she tries to tell you otherwise..lol. but really I want something to fit me (5'8" around 120 lbs, not really athletic but not out of shape.marching band helped in high school)

Damn.. saw the price.. I'm kinda on a budget. I've already bought all my other gear for under $300 (tank, marker, loader, and mask) but I don't wanna buy everything just yet

i have been using amazon, the only padding that i had a problem with was a planet eclipse bounce shirt. the medium was a little tight and it was really easy to return USPS. i know its a little shady going off reviews people post but i havent had a problem with any of the reviews so hope this helps

I have everything else, but I kinda strayed from Mike's advice and bought the gun first but the only reason was because it was an eBay bud and I got a used extcy for 115$ instead of 156$ like the other one that went up fir bid a few days later. Other then that I'm just looking for good padding at reasonable costs.I've watched most of his videos but I haven't seen the padding super show

if you want cheap pads, then you can go with volleyball knee pads
but for forearm padding, you definitely want paintball specific ones. i recommend dye or eclipse pads.
if you're concerned about sizing, just take the measurements of your own arm and compare them to the measurements on a sizing chart for the equipment

If I get pants, are knee pads needed or extra? I can get good pants if I won't need extra knee padding.

Pant padding is not dense at all and is only for comfort and bounces used WITH knee pads.

get good knee pads before pants
pads will save your knees
lots of players wont even wear paintball pants and instead opt for bdu pants and knee pads

I have my dad's old bdu's and that's what I play in. They work great and but much paint had broken on them even with direct hits. What are side good knee pads then? I like the PE pads and vaulken pads

PE or Dye. Some of my teammates actually like volleyball pads because theyre less restrictive.

I actually got to go to one about 60 miles out of state because it's open every day of the week and tried on the only two masks they had (eflex and proflex) and held and shot the axe and mini gs. I liked the mini gs a lot and the proflexes fit amazingly
