Hey guys!

I've been thinking of picking up a pump gun and I was just wondering what I should get.  Since I'm just getting into pump, I don't want something too expensive incase I don't like it.  I also want something that is reliable and fairly simple - something that will just work.  A nice pump stroke and nice shot would be nice as well.

I've been thinking about picking up a used Azodin Kaos Pump because it is fairly cheap and I have heard good things about it.

Any advice/other recommendations?

can't go wrong with an old "sniper" with a CCM pump kit, as long as it's vertical feed with a decent feedneck it's good to go!

I have a couple Kaos Pumps for loaners...they're pretty good for what they cost. The only thing you'll definitely want to change from stock is the barrel. The o-ring based pseudo detent makes for curveballs and other erratic behavior. Throw something underbored on it and the AKP is a nice little shooter. Having said that, remember that it's a Spyder clone. Don't get carried away with upgrades. For the cost of an AKP, the single trigger frame, a reg, a high flow valve, an on/off ASA and a new feedneck, you could be into a much better pump, like a CCMed sniper or Empire Sniper.

Also, is the Kaos Pump II a lot better than the first edition?

generally anywhere from $200 and up, could get lucky and find one for cheaper.

Oh ok! I was wondering, is it worth buying a pump gun? I'm mainly buying one to save costs on paint, teach me to play more tactically, and for a loaner gun.

You should look on the mcarterbrown forum. They have a large selection of pump guns. You can find some for around 100-150 that dont look too bad
