as most of you probably know, oakley is a major name in sunglasses and goggles, and they also are a major manufacturer of protective eyewear.

But what if oakley made a mask for paintball? there would be so many lens options, and the customizability would probably off the charts, considering what you're already able to do with their existing line of sunglasses.

what are your guys's thoughts about this?

Why would they even think about spending the time and money it takes to design an entirely new product, and then launch it into a market that won't make them nearly as much money as the markets they are currently involved with?

Personally, I'm not super interested in a mask that I think will cost significantly more than anything currently on the market, simply because Oakley makes it. And honestly, as far as customization, they're going to have a hard time outdoing what JT has accomplished over the years.

How deep is your wallet is my first question. Prices I would imagine will far exceed even the VIO. R&D isn't cheap

I'm perfectly okay with not paying $300+ for a mask.

I'm all for more options on the market but Oakley and paintball is highly unlikely. There is very little money to be made in paintball

It's Oakley. Why would they come up with something affordable when their name alone nets them a couple hundred bucks?

I had this thought the other day actually.

I feel like they'd make something really cool, but I realized R&D costs wouldn't be worth it for them.

Chelsea Football Club - St.Louis Rams - Tampa Bay Rays - Florida Panthers - Miami Heat

Tampa Bay Damage - Los Angeles Ironmen

Yeah, I don't know how much rd they would put in, they already make ballistic lenses and thermal lenses. Unless they somehow make something revolutionary is it worth it? And the fact that the brand name ads 50% markup by itself, of course paintball kiddies are willing to pay 600 for a sandana, so I guess a fool and his money...

Not just sandanas, Boston flexes, and some spectra bottoms are going for hundreds as well

People pay that much for some headgear and other items like because theyre collectors and those things are collectible/antiques.
