What the absolute fuck Dye.

So I ordered my mirror lens not too long ago and as soon as I took it out of the packaging, I put on my mask, and put microfibers over the lens to protect it. I take the microfibers off today to admire my beautiful new lens. SCRATCHES FUCKING EVERYWHERE. I haven't even worn the damn thing yet. What the fuck Dye?

Assuming the lens didn't come out the box with scratches....why are you mad at dye?

Because why the fuck is my lens scratched? It's never been used and it's hardly even been looked at.

It's a problem with the mirror finish. Can't wipe them with dry microfiber, have to be careful of even the smallest bits of dirt. Problems been around since forever. Are the scratches visible when you're wearing the mask?

Are they those little tiny surface scratches all over the lens? If that's the case, all lenses have that, it's just a lot more noticeable on something so shiny.

It's like a car, after taking a car to a car wash, if you look at the paint in the sun, you will see thousands of tiny surface scratches.

Some of them are noticeable when wearing.

A portion of them are just surface scratches, but I'm more upset about the ones that are deeper.

I guess you should try a different color. I have the blue ice lenses and the smoke lenses and I don't have that problem.

A guy at my field bought a set of the mirrored lenses. First game out, got shot point blank, lens cracked. It was totally unusable after one game and he had to buy another one on the spot.

My Mirror HD lens took very little wear except for where the back of my gun would sometimes hit them while playing.

No I wasnt assuming anything. You said yourself you covered it with a dry microfiber. Unless it was an optical quality cloth (the extremely smooth ones) it doesnt surprise me at all that it was heavily scratched.

Any cloth can scratch a lens since forever. Why? Because it can trap dirt, and rubbing any foreign object all over your lens will scratch it up, and the visible effects are amplified on a mirrored surface. Use clean microfibers, and learn how to clean and store lenses properly.

Why not just store it in the microfiber cloth bag dye provided for you in the box when you purchased your mask, specifically so you store the mask inside to prevent scratching of the lens?

Well, then I suppose the scratches must have appeared by fucking magic. There's no other explanation. According to you, you did everything perfectly and all of our suggestions can't possibly be correct, so magic must have done it.

Normal microfibers are rough when dry. Just feel them lol. Optical quality cloths, very old and soft cotton tshirts, mask/lens bags are what you should stick with.

Isn't this the kid that bought a used marker that had a reg leak after waiting a few months to air it up and then ranted here about it.  A DM12 or something like that?  Simple o-ring change that could have been found if immediately airing up after purchase and then complained about no help on PBnation BST.

Calm your tits man if you keep ranting about shit people are going to bring it up.  If the lens was fine when you got it and scratched after being in your possession then it was your fault.

DM10, and you didn't rant about no help on BST, just bitched about him screwing you by "KNOWING" the o-ring was bad, rest is true.

You have an attitude.  This thread is headed in the other threads direction.... locked.

No offense but shit happens.  You make a post about and then cop an attitude at everyone posting.  The attitude isn't needed.  You have some rage issues and can't accept responsibility for your actions or inactions.

No matter how clean they were, unless they are optical quality, they are rough as playdoh has said multiple times throughout this thread.

And no. According to your op, you put microfibers on the lens and set it down. Even if you put the microfibers on the lens and then put it in the dye bag, the lens is still against the mocroiber so te bag is no help.

That is exactly what I did. I put the microfibers over the lens and then put the mask in the bag. Didn't think that microfibers would scratch a lens that badly if at all. So I guess this is MY fault and I'm SOL.

No shit.  Funny thing is the Dye one is one of the cheaper ones... $20 for a freaking microfiber?

I screwed my mirror lens on my Eflex this weekend...

I had cleaned it with water and managed to bubble the inner lens... it's all fucked up.  Not sure what happened.  It was warm water but I did that 1000x with my smoked lens and it never did this shit.  I don't see a sticker there either... now I have to track down my old smoked lens.

Ran it under.  Probably jacked the anti-fog portion of the inside lens.

It might just be water trapped between the two lenses. If you're going to toss the lens anyway, I've read that putting the lens in a pillow case and putting it in the drier on a low cycle can get rid of the water. But I'd say try the cell phone trick and stick it in a bag of uncooked rice. Should remove any moisture in a day or two.
