i think what makes the mini one of the best 300 buck range guns is that the gun does not NEED any upgrades to perform wonderfully and comfortably. trigger is great, camping feed stock, all metal parts, multimode board ... just great stock.
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

And yes, Gordon is the sexiest manifestation of "to the front."

I own a mini and a Up'd vice ... I use the mini for woods ..vice for Fields...the mini is a great gun perfect for that "300" Gun, and doesn't require and upgrade out of the box

I would have to be the PMR, but you should really just save up another 100 dollars and get a G3. No damn PMR can beat that shit. :D

i like the pmr much better than the mini. the pmr is honestly just a cut down version of higher end proto markers. in fact, with upgrades, it can be just as good as a pm6 or pm7. the mini, although very compact and very light, has a few bugs. but its still a fine gun.

In my oppinion i believe the PMR SE is alot better, personally i have owned a PMR a Mini and a G3 and for my feel i enjoy the PMR. Your best choice for $300 is a used gun though but from a trusted user who took care of it. But if u want new then just try them all out and see what you prefer

Mini 'cause it's pretty much the lightest and fastest marker for $300, but there is also the G3

Well, my budget has always been right here so here is what I have to say. High end guns run used for right around this price. you can get threshys, timmys, and even angel a1s. You just have to look. HINT: Pbnation
And dont try to tell me your upped pmr or mini is better than an angel a1, because it just isnt

umm My mini is better than an Angel A1.
woah woah slow down turbo and listen.

I took about a 5 year break from paintball and just recently came back in time for OK Dday 08. I picked up a brand new Mini.
took it out back broke it in, fished thru all the forums looking for potential goof-ups that might occur. I got lucky and had no problems. the gun shoots up to and past the fields velocity and rate of fire limitations, so in other words ... no limitations from the gun. BTW all stock settings and parts (its amazing these guys made a gun work perfect right outta the box)

played the whole week in oklahoma, played several other times after that, and believe it or not, the "mini" does not feel so mini to me (anymore). im 5'9", average hands, 180 lbs, and the gun fits me fine. small enough for when i run up to a bunker and lose my balance, i can take a hand off the gun to catch myself and keep shooting.

my point is you get used to your gun, and how to sight down your gun, and how it feels in the hands. so if you just shoot it enough, play with it enough, it doesnt matter what you payed.

but jesus christ dudes, its only 300 bucks, buy one, play with it, if ya dont like it, sell it to some other jack-o on the web and get the other. and cut somebody's grass if you havent got the green.

A1s are better than all of these. 700 dollar gun> 300 dollar gun. There is no way a mini can top an angel, they run at super low pressure, use a blackberry-style interface system, free software upgrades through your computer, tooless side-hatch removal (twist a knob and tada! the top of the gun lifts up), and everything else that comes with a high end. Angels compete with dms, not minis. So save your breath, and dont be that guy who compares his upped ion to pm8s. Just dont.

ahhh .... i didnt want to do this but i just cant stop myself.
congratulations on making the connection i was trying to make.
i played with my mini and adapted to it and now i can pull it up and its aiming right where i want it to (muscle memory)

now your a1...
super low pressure - whoopty fricken doo
blackberry-style interface system - (this made me laugh) ok you got me there, the mini has regular cell phone interface system
software upgrades - the gun shoots dont it, what the hell else would you need as far as software goes
tooless side-hatch removal - you sound like a big tool to me

your gun may compete against mine on paper but on the field its all on the player

bottom line is you just gotta get out there and play with what you got. its the ONLY way to get the upperhand

p.s. calling me an "upped ion guy" im guessing this is just the general paintball insult seeing as how my non-ion gun is in no way "upped"

lol smokestack i kno that anybody from div. 1 psp could kick our asses with a 98c. But the point is to prove which is better. There is a reason Stockholm joy uses the a1s.
and I wasnt calling u the upped ion guy i was just saying dont be that guy. Im not hating on the mini I just wanted to prove the a1 is better calm down.

and no im not a tool i just copied wat i read on angels site

2 Friends bought PMRs, both of htem sold them in 2 months, one of them got a Mini, the other one an Ego 06....
What i have seen in PMRs are problems and problems.... my friend's PMR needed to fill a 45/45 tank every 3 or 4 hoppers of paint..

I dont realy have any experience with any other 300 dollar gun besides the PMR and the Mini.

For my experience, i can tell you the Mini is a better gun. I asked a lot of players that have been arround for 5 years about which gun should i get, and all of them told me to get a Mini.

Now, my epxerience with the Mini.
Wel, the mini shoots very consistent in my opinion, its a little noisi (but who cares), it could have some more modes on the stock bord, but besides that its an awesome gun.

the only problem i've had is that i broke the tip of the bolt once because dirt got into the gun and scratched the very tip of the bolt ( A replacemet of that part comes with the mini). I only changed that part and cleaned my hopper to get rid of any dirt left, and it has worked flawlessly since that event.

So yes, i recomend it. But obviously, if you can afford a High end, defenetly go for it.

Despite the common misconseption that the Mini is too small for big hands, it works great for me, and I have very large hands. not quite as big as Mike's, but pretty big. The Mini is a really great gun for a good price. If you take care of it, there is less of a chance that it will break. that's just common sense.

I personally like the Pmr alot better. Because proto has been around and knows what there doing. Im not saying invert doesnt know what there doing, but its their first gun. It depends on how you like the gun to feel in your hands. I dont like the mini because my hands are a little to big for it.

Hope this helped.

I think the rail and the mini are both great guns, just play with both of them and whatever you feel comfortable with buy. i personally think the mini comes right of the box not needing any upgrades, while the rail needs a trigger, feedneck, back cap, barrel, right out of the box which i think is annoying.

Yeah the first run of mini's had some troubles but with the new guns they have most if not all of the kinks worked out. Talking to lots of owners they love it and i shot one at my local field and its super light and tight and plenty fast for just about anyone.

Well I've had considerable playing time with the fusion, mini, and rail SE.

First, I like the rail, but even with the SE version, i just don't like it as much as the others. Everything feels too stiff, and the reg pisses me off, the macroline always spins around to whatever spot is least comfortable.

The fusion is a fantastic gun, everything feels right, and was done amazingly well for a newer company such as DP. Only real drawback is the board, no psp 3 shot it needs to be at a consistent shooting speed to ramp.

The mini wins by a small margin over the fusion. Its so small, with ALL ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION. No lowering weight BS by making cheap plastic grips like proto does. The trigger is godly. It is the only gun within the price range that I have ever seen where I do not need to use a ramping mode. I can walk it on semi and hold it at about 17 bps, I'm not exaggerating the field chrono had a counter. The feedneck is a little finicky, but it clamps fine, so no worries. Also, not only there is no spinning around a macroline to annoy me, there is none at all! Yay! Programming is even easier than the proto board, and there are no eye wires to break. There is a secondary board between the grip and mainbody that the eyes are directly connected to. Angel spring loaded detents that last nearly a lifetime, unlike the rubber proto detents that last maybe 4 cases. Many cry about kick, but if you know how to hold a marker there is nothing to worry about. Also among the other little things is that it comes with a spectacular parts kit. Much much better than the proto kits.

Conclusion: Jump for the mini, if not, or you just have a beef against Invert, go fusion. Just dont bother with the rail Se plz its wayy overrated.

omg it's so simple! the rail and the mini stock vs stock are damn close, id say the mini is a bit better. But if you add upgrades into the mix, you will blow the mini away with your PMR. not only that, mini's have a shit-load of problems (I don't care if your specific 1 didn't). Dye has been making guns for a while now, they know what they're doing.

this is not a biased remark, cause I own a PMR, and my bro ownz a mini, ive used both quite a bit.

Stock vs Stock = MINI

Upgrades = PMR

however, used guns are nice too. but imo light fast efficient. some guns may beat it in one category but id take 2nd in every event rather 1st last last last last.

I've used my friends mini for a few games, I liked it more then my PMR. I'm about 5'9ish and the trigger felt great for me (for some reason I have smaller hands). It's really just personal choice. I've had a few problems with my PMR leaking so thats kind of a drop back for me.
