Well you could get a decent speedball style gun that does not need to be upgraded which will allow more money to be used for better clothing/gear (i.e. good pants, a camo jersey, a good mask, a good HPA tank, a good hopper, and a good pack).

If you wanna shoot fast and have a good looking gun. Take the 98 Custom. Not the electro 98s. And customize it.

autococker
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

And yes, Gordon is the sexiest manifestation of "to the front."

It all depends on what your playing style is... If you like to shoot get a speedball marker, if you like to be more persise when making a shot, a pump might me a great way to go. Or get a milsim marker if you want to get more relistic. I think a cocker is a great way to go, you can always put a pump kit on it if you ever want to try pump + you cant go wrong with a good autococker...

SP1's are great woodball guns, they can be beat all to hell and keep working. They have a decent amount of upgrades and attachment's you can add to them and for the price it cant be beat... It's easy to maintain, cheap to upgrade and you can find them brand new for under $170.00 ...
The stock barrel is crap on it though, if you get one I would recommend upgrading to a 14" or 16" single piece CP .689

Tippmann's are good but they are air hogs in stock form (imo) and they can get pretty heavy to lug around the field.
The flatline is amazing but it's temperamental, when I shot really good paint through it on low humidity days it shot money... But with field paint and humidity it breaks like crazy.

Personally I use a DP G3 for woodsball and I love it.. It's lightweight, shoots great and is super easy to maintain.

I'm going to side with justis here. The lighter the marker, the better it is for woodsball as far as I'm concerned. I've been playing it for years and I started off with a Tippmann 98 and very quickly I went to an Ion, an Angel 1 and now a G3. Hauling something around for ages while running, ducking and diving gets tedious and annoying after a while. So the lighter the better. And a marker like the Vibe or G3 will be perfect or anything along those lines really. And if you want range, purchase a Freak Junior, and get the All-American Apex Tip adapter for it and then you stick an Apex Barrel on the end and you'll be laughing.

well any airball gun can be used for woodsball ( they will outshoot a BT or Tippmann anyday). Although, I love my 98C because it's just so indestructible. I broke my toe in an epic fall about 3 weeks ago. yet my gun was fine. If you like to play in the rain, snow, mud, dirt, and sand, A 98C, or AGD TAC-1 are your best bets ( AGD is very reliable as well).

If you are playin with buds in the woods get a light, mid range speedball gun to outperform. If your into the mil-sim, a tippy A5 is way customizable. The Sp-1 is super cheap and needs a better barrel and i've heard some good things about the TM7

If you can afford it AGD's are the best guns out there. I don't have the money for a q-bow but if I did I would trade both my guns for it in a second.

ANYTHING TIPPMANN

tippmann x7 is good
a-5 is better because it is smaller
and 98 is probably your best choise if your going for light and fast

but if you want a kick ass looking gun go with the x7

YOU CAN USE ANYTHING FOR WOODSBALL

If money isn't a problem, get an A-5 and upgrade the crap out of it.

The best woods ball marker is the one that best suites your style of play. I started with an A-5 when they first came out and upped the crap out of it. Have gone through a number of markers since then and now shoot a Quest. My woodsball team mainly uses Quests, EGOs and a few X-7s and a TAC 9. And most of us have autocockers for wet weather.
