What did you think of it? Did you like it?

Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. The only part that I thought was overdone was the fighting into and out of MNU headquarters. The numerous use of the electro zapper, and the subsequent explosion of bodies, was just... eh. Everything else was done very well. Acting, graphics, everything. The ending also leaves enough room for a sequel.

One thing that really had me almost jumping out of my chair was when he used the alien weapon (not the robot) against the Nigerians. I was really close to just cheering. :P

So what did you think?

I just got back from seeing it.

It was actually pretty good. It was a bit gorey bit in its context it wasent that bad.

I just wanna see if they make a sequel and see if Christopher comes back to change him, or if he desides to stay the way he is.

I enjoyed very much. Hope they make another one, District 10. The special effects were very believable too.

All I can say is that it was a great movie, and for anyone still wondering if they should watch it, it definently lived up to the hype.

I liked the movie alot. There's alot of stuff in the movie I have questions about but gone unanswered; like why cat food? why was that christopher prawn, his friend, and son were very intelligent but the others not so much, etc... The documentary style was great. Also the way the Wikus swore was hilarious.

so i have a few questions.

If i sprayed some gasoline on a bear would it turn into a human? since when does fuel = mutagen?

why does it take a relatively small amount of the liquid to start up the ship after 30 years? all the liquid that was found on the ground came from the ship, shouldn't it have been able to take off from day 1?

Why did Wikis wait until the absolute last possible second to grow a pair?

Is it more of a horror movie, or an action movie?

Action movie, nothing scary about it. A bit gorey though.

Um, its called science fiction. Also, who says their fuel is like our fuel? Christopher said it took them 20 years to collect that much liquid. I'm guessing that the orginal fuel was drained, and they were forced to recreate their own via certain chemicals that were lost when they landed/ humans made them leave the mothership.

To answer the intellegence of Christopher and such, I think they were probably like the engineers of the ship. In the movie, they said that most of the Prawns were workers, so I think they might have a lower intelligence.

Stargate is science fiction, but they explain their bullshit with other bullshit so at least there is something behind it.

Its different.

The last "alien" sci-fi movie i watched was cloverfield, and that sucked so many bags of dicks, that this looked like a glimmering diamond in a pile of excrement.

I enjoyed it, but i had way to many questions left unanswered.

Also, why are they there?

I didnt like it too much. I thought it was sumpn I could have watched on DVD. The special effects were meh. Its easy to have everything disintegrate...... that easy cinema magic....

The only thing that saved that movie was the mech armor pc.... otherwise watch it when it comes out on cable....

Did anyone actually listen to the commentary? they explain quite a bit. They tell how most of them are workers and have very little intelligence and are only good at taking commands, nobody knows why they're there or why they stopped where they did (also said at the beginning). The special effects were "meh" because they didn't wanna go over the top and wanted to make it a little more believable.

Great film for a new director and the cast, especially Sharlto Copley's acting as Wikus. Good mix of action and drama with some back story. Interview and broadcast narrations just added to the realism of the movie. A lot of action with fancy military small arms along with a creative arsenal of alien tech. Even with a limited budget, the film is convincing as they get. Another good summer 09 film!

I thought this movie was one of the most original movies I've seen in a long time. I usually don't like alien movies because they can be creepy and gross and are all about the world getting taken over. The approach this movie took was so great and interesting I can honestly say this was probably the first alien based movie I've enjoyed since... Independence Day lol. Heads up for girls (or guys) who are squeamish, there is A LOT of gore and guts. That was the only thing that bugged me a little, but what can I say... I'm a squeamish girl!
