Since there is no written (I know we have Mike and his videos) source of information I'm gonna write one up based on what I can find and what I know about the Intimidator

Bodies, Generations, years.
Taken from intimidatorowners.com/PBNation. Written by Andimi86.
Generation 1

The original intimidator was released between 2000-2001. These were based off of the Bob Long Millennium body (similar to a spyder) and were some of the first true low pressure markers. Gen 1 markers came with Select Fire boards, and were also some of the first markers to support anti-chop eyes. They can be identified by the decoration block in the back, dual LPR housing (which includes and HPR and LPR), and characteristic frame. They were not sold with an in-line regulator. All of the Gen 1 Rippers are very limited and still remain very desirable.

One version of the Prototype Ripper had the same milling as the Ripper 1 with additional milling under the barrel tube and a small dot behind the feedneck

The other Prototype Ripper had the milling under the barrel tube and more subtle milling the lower tube.

Generation 2

In 2002 the intimidator line experianced it's first overhaul. The dual LPR block was replaced with a smaller single LPR block, and the frame was replaced with a clamshell design (except for the GZ which has a .45 frame). The body was lengthened to eliminate the decoration block, and a torpedo regulator was included stock. Later these came with WAS Boards (and later still Frenzy Boards) and clamping feed necks. With the addition of the WAS board this line became incredibly popular and dominated the tournament scene.

Species Although the Species is a generation 2 Body it was made in 2004. It was the last generation 2 produced and it didn't have a slot milled for the bolt, instead it had a pin that ran flush with the bolt and it would be removed with the back cap.

Flame The were only 2 Flames made and only 2 are still useable.

Generation 2.5

Altough not made during a specific time frame these guns include parts from more then one generation and fit best in their own category. They all come with a Generation 2 body and Generation 3 frame and internals.

The Empire Intimidator includes several unique parts. Changes included redesigned trigger frame that is only found on the Empire and Dragon 2.5, an all delrin Empire poppet that fits a Gen 2 ramsleeve, and a larger front block that fits bodies that aren't tapped for Gen 3 front blocks.

Empire

The Dragon 2.5 is an update of the popular Gen 2 Dragon. It includes an Empire frame (or in some cases a 2k5 frame) with updated electroncis, and Gen 3 front block, and Gen 3 internals (?).

The 2k5 incorporates a Gen 2 body, front block, and internals with an updated frame and electronics.

Generation 3

Gen 3 Intimidators, a refinment of the Empire, were released in late 2003. The have a shorter body and bolt, redesigned trigger frame with an LCD screen in the grip area, smaller eye covers, delrin poppet, new ram sleeve and smaller LPR. The bumper was removed from the ram and placed on they ram cap instead. They also came with Frenzy boards, a new wiring harness, and faster Humphrey's solenoid.

Generation 4

This is the most recent incarnation of the Intimidator. The largest changes are a smaller body, shorter bolt, new trigger frame, and new internals that feature a pressure balanced poppet. This allows the marker to use a much lower LPR pressure which helps reduce kick.

Generation 5

The fifth generation intimidator is probably the biggest change to the line since Generation 2. The clamshell from has been replaced by a frame similar to those found on the Marq. The front block has been eliminated and instead the LPR screws directly into the body and the vertical ASA has been incorperated into the frame. The balanced poppet has been changed back to a standard poppet, and the ram cap has be redesigned. Also, macroline and a bottomline ASA are now included stock.

Frames

There are the Empire, Alias, Critical, and 2005 frames.

The Empire frames were the frames that came on the Empire 1 and some Dragon 2.5's. They had a snatch grip on the back of the frame, it is similar to the Shocktech frame. they did not have a hose guard.

Posted Image

The Alias frame was the frame that came on many of the generation 3 Intimidators. It has a snatch grip on the back of the frame but it is just a small piece that flows downward. I do find it more comfortable than the Empire snatchgrip.

Posted Image k_garretson23's old Ripper 2

Critical Frame
The Critical frame is similar to the 2005 frame. It uses the hose gard and has no snatch grip but it can run with the older 2002 internals.
Posted Image Iram's AIM Timmy.

2005 Frame
The 2005 Frame is almost exactly like the Critical frame but it CANNOT use the 2002 internals.

Posted Image My old 2k5'd GZ

2002 Frame
This frame came stock on all the Timmys ther than the GZ and later than the Species. It has no hose guard or snatch grip.

Triggers.
For the most part 90% of Timmy triggers are universal, the only exception is some Triggers are made different and have a piece that doesn't fit the hose guard.
Posted Image
The trigger on the left is larger around the bearing and it does not fit in the hose guard.

2k5ing.
To 2k5a Timmy basically means to take a generation 2 body and strip all the old parts off exccept the bolt and eye covers then replace them with 2004/2005 parts.

To 2k5 a Timmy you need;
2001*/2002/2003 body
Empire, Alias, Critical, Or Empire frame.
2005 Front block**, Trinity front block, Evil Front block, or Empire front block.
2005 Electronics and Solenoid.
2005 Ram assembly (Ram, Sleeve, poppet)
2005 screw kit

*If using a 2001 body it has to be sent to BLAST to be milled for the 2005 board and solenoid.
** If using the 2005 block the body has to be re tapped.

Common Problems-
Barrel leak- Usually is something to do with the poppet, if you have the gen 2 poppet change the oring if that is no good, change the cupseal. If using a gen 3 or later change the poppet oring.

Leak from the bolt- Change the ram orings

Leak from the front frame screw- the body is punctured

Leak from the inside the grip frame, Take the panel off, make sure all the barbs and hoses are attached and on well, if that doesn't work your noid is probably dead.

Lubing
Bob Long recommends using DOW 55 for lube, but you can get away with 33 on everything except the Ram Sleeve and Poppet, even then you sometimes can get away with 33. But that doesn't mean cheap out and not get DOW 55. The Intimidator usually only needs to be lubed every 10 cases or so but it can go longer, I've gotten 1 to 17 cases and its still going strong.

A note about the Poppet valve, if you bottom out your LPR or HPR it will leak until the LPR gets to around 50 PSI.

If anyone else can think of something that should be added to this thread let me know please.

What is the difference between the BL Empire and the BL Infamous? Just the colour?

No need to answer...

Does the Bob Long Empire (Gen 4) needs an adjustable ram cap?
