Skirmish is a nice field, but the prices are outrageous. Really outrageous. They charge $100 for a case of DXS Blaze. Blaze retails at $40 a case (give or take). That's on top of the $35 entry fee.

If you have amazing amounts of money to blow, then it's a huge, fun field.
Gerber, Surefire, TOPS, and Cold Steel all suck the big one. Buy quality products, not junk. :-)

I agree with Sticktodrum, first field I went to, it is amazing, though really expensive. I think it's more like $75 per case.

Best in the country?! <_< Not even close man! Not even in PA! Any baller from PA will tell you That Skirmish sucks! Dont get me wrong, the fields are awsome and fun to play on. But The prices are RETARDED!!!! Most of the refs are dumb asses who spend most of there time day dreaming and looking at the sky or the ground than doing there job! Go play at EMR, Then try to tell us that Skirmish is the best... Sorry man, but you read too many of those Skirmish gas station brochures... I've played in back yards better than Skirmish

Nope, $100. Posted Image

Really? Two years ago it was $70, damn that is expensive. But it is a worthwhile trip, massive field with very tactical, good woodsball play.

Totally agree with sticktodrum. Skirmish is fun as hell, but the pricing is absolutely ludacris. If you wanna play a game there go to Dday or something you'll get the whole skirmish experience there.

dude skirmish is alright not the best

Pros
Nice big feild
Nice Set ups
Fun to play

Cons
Overpriced
Crappy tech guys(yes they are horrible(espicially a little guy who looks sort of asian(worst tech ive ever met)
More then half of the people that play there wipe like crazy and never get out(ive shot a guy at least 12 times before seeing him walk out(and after passing the refs he turned around and got right back into the game))

Little bit of history.
The first four paintball fields in the World were opened in 1982. They were Survival New York run by Jerry Braun, Three Rivers by Debra Dion, Skirmish USA by Paul Fogel, and Strategy Plus by Jim Ioulo.
So Skirmish does hold a place in paintball history and deserves respect for that.

Having said that, I will also say that I have not been there since the WRG of '94 and refuse to go back. Since then, I've seen posts on the web that convince me that the problems they have now are the same issues I had with them at the time
(what? 16-18 years ago?).

<edit to add>
I didn't count Caleb Strong in that list of First Fields, but it wasn't an "official" thing he had going and not part of NSG.

Hey guys, here's a bit of info for everyone.

We offer tiered paint prices depending on how much paint you buy.

12 or more cases of paint = $74.00 per case
5 or more cases = $85.00 per case
Full Case = 2000 paintballs = $99.00
1000 paintballs = $50.00
500 paintballs = $35.00

Also, we usually have special paint pricing for big events like Stalingrad and ION.

All our info is right on our website. Is it more then other fields? Yes, however gun and goggle rentals are free. There's no extra hidden charge like at most other fields.

If anybody has any issues with Skirmish, it would be great if you'd tell management about it. Going on and on about it on forums isn't the way to get a problem changed. Call 1-800-SKIRMISH and drop us a line, or check out our website. Our main goal is to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for everyone to play in. Please let us know you're concerns.

I absolutely HATE LVP after playing at OXCC (just over pa border into md)

OXCC = a potential for 10 airball fields (normally have about 2 or 3 set up), 10$ admin 35$ case of rec sport or 40$ bronze. cant beat that.

Drop paint down to $50-65/case I will no doubt play there, and I'm sure the field will still make a huge profit, even maybe a bigger profit, because a higher volume of players will come there, and you would have to advertise that paint price as the selling point along with the huge/fun fields. And as far as "Hidden charges other fields have" wtf is that? Fields I go to I pay for case of paint, $40-60, Field fee/air, $15-25, then tax. Is tax the hidden charge?

Sorry but at $100 I don't see how you get any traffic, and if you do I'd be suprised to see the demographic you are serving too.

There's my $00.02, I will also relay this same info to Skirmish itself.

Hidden fees as in charging just a bit less then us for entry, then charging extra for air fills (per fill), gun rental, goggle rental, gun techs (that's right, our tech work is free) and parking.
We also have some of the best group leader benefit packages I've seen. Where else are you going to get an X7 phenom, case of paint, 4 people playing for free, private fields, special group rates, and photo/plaque for bringing a large group.

Let's not forget about our full PROFESSIONAL photo staff that is on hand every weekend to do group photos, action shots, and videos (call ahead to request videos)

People wipe at all fields, I've personally played at many different fields, and you have cheaters at every single one. Unfortunately a blemish on our sport.

Like I said before, any complaints or comments, give us a call, send us an email, or tell us on our facebook.

See you guys at I.O.N.!!!

yea the price for paint is crazy but i haven't been to another field that offers the woodsball fields that skirmish does, now that being said i go to every ion and have been to them all will be there again this year, allies ftw we'll do it again this year. but yea i also agree lvp is awesome. i play on keystone united we are sponsored by wanna play paintball, and during the winter we go to lvp to practice for the indoor field which is nice in its own regard kinda sticky and what not but yea lvp is great for the level of competition it offers. also they run some great tournaments. epl series atleast we played the one event there this year. but yea skirmish is awesome just expensive

I've been to skirmish twice a few years back but the admission and paint prices were too much and that was when paint was $70 a case. We also have to drive three hours on I-80 to get there and that blows too. We usually just play in the woods by our houses because the closest field is 45 minutes and they only have 2 indoor xball and 3 small wooded fields. I've heard that lvp south is nice, its too far for me to ever get there but a friend I have loved it there.

Dead thread necro. I mean, Skirmish seems like a great place but $130 just to play for a few hours is basically like volunteering to be broke 3 days after payday. And yeah having tiered pricing if you buy 12 cases of paint as a way to "save money" is nonsense. I guess it makes sense if you bring 12 people or something but hard bricks, I don't enough people who would want to play paintball for the tiered pricing to matter to me. I could probably get like two other people tops to commit and come with me. Awesome. Now it'll cost me $330 just to play. I understand they offer a lot, but most fields I see either do one of two things. They charge a low entry fee and charge a little more for paint or have a steeper entry fee and charge less for paint. If the field fee was a little easier to swallow, I could understand the $100 for a case. Plus the whole, "Well you get a free gun if you bring enough people!" Awesome, now I will have an X7 Phenom that I'll have to sell on Craigslist.

The only time id do to Skirmish.. half off paint days...

buy 2 cases, probably would only use one tah tday, comeback sometime later, maybe on half entry day, use taht case if its still good..

saved a bit of money..
but only if that paint is still good...
