I know there have been a lot of threads about the Etek, but bear with me.

Im seriously considering buying one, and I've heard the Eteks are tough on paint. Is this true?

So from people who own them, how have they performed, have you had any problems with them so far?

Do they shoot like an Ego9? If not, is there something you can compare it to for me?

Thank you.

the etek 3 has a lpr like high end guns which allows it to have a softer shot vs markers w/out a lpr

i've yet had a barrel break or chop on my etek 3 :)

i had a bunch of chops only it was due to gander mountain's old as hell, swollen, and dimpled RPS premium. premium is tourney grade so its already brittle. I have since shot some draxxus and some walmart brand paint to break the gun in and havent had a single break since.

Well to be honest im very pleased with my AM. Ive had it for over a few months now and haven't had any major issues with it. It is definably not hard on paint at all, Ive shot three full pods straight form the fridge on the stock settings and didn't break a single ball on capped rapping at 15.4bps with a rotor. Shoots just like my buddies 09 ego, but the sound is much louder and the gun itself is much thicker and heavier than the 09s. They really are an 09 ego without the bells and whistles. but overall very great gun if you dont mind the loudness of the marker.
