that is awsome.

Man though, I have the opposite issue, Im trying to gain weight, and its not happening no matter what i eat!! lol

dude, same problem. i go through a box of cheez-its, and 3 sodas a day, i eat stuff that would make a normal person gain 5 pounds a week, and i gain no weight or even loose some.

but its a good problem to have.

much eaiser to gain weight than to loose it.

man my wrestlin bro losses weight, like POUNDS of weight, going out to a pizza buffet. I got a survivalist metabolism that gains weight if i smell food. I actually found altering my diet very much any direction makes me balloon, which sucks. so its straight up grappling and ballin for me.

I really don't think soda is a big part of obesity.. It's all mental. You just have to have some willpower and tell yourself "I don't need that tall glass of water and corn syrup. The water does it for me just fine."

Being able to stop yourself from eating that handful of M&M's or frying up a grilled cheese sandwich or three is a HUGE part of losing weight. Start there, kiddos.

Success is my only mothafuckin' option, failure's not

Man don't be eating junk and a lot of food just to gain weight. Id rather be skinny then have 90% of my body being fat. Muscle weights more than fat. Try gaining muscle instead.

Does drinking alcohol put weight on you? Not beer, I mean hard shit, like tequila and vodka?

Yes, Have you seen Punkwork's beer gut? He drinks a lot. Including when he's making a video. It just hangs right out. But he's not "fat" He just drinks too much.

If you want to know what I'm talking about, find a video when he's drinking and shooting a marker shirt naked.

so mike who is that in the picture with u?

His wife I think.

Either that, or his old girlfriend.

yeah i looked in the mirror one day and didnt like what i saw so my friends helped me out becuse they recently cut out carbs and they looked great so i did the same wasent easy but i am happy with the results. ps a tip for people who want to lose weight you cant just diet for a little while and return back to eating unhealthy, you have to maintain good eating habits. People said to me, when i started to cut carbs that your not living life, but i realized you will live a happier and longer life if you eat healthy. if your somone who doesnt like what they see then do something about it you will feel a lot better about yourself

I think a lot of it has to do with metabolism. Im in the boat of whatever I do, I stay at 160. For the past 3 weeks I've had the stomach flu (eating next to nothing and laying on the couch all day) and havent been going to jiu jitsu and yesterday when I weighed myself I was 162. My dad is in the same boat with me, but my mom has been watching what she eats due to weight and thyroid problems. Luckily, she's starting to get me to abandon some of my worst habits. I have been Mountain Dew free for 2 months now. Lol

Necro.

Since last summer, I've gone from 28% body fat down to 22%, but I've gained almost 30 pounds.

Remember, the dial on your scale isn't an accurate statement of whats going on in your body.

Since last summer I've gone from toothpick arms to fairly large, meaty arms. My thighs went from flabby to toned.

As soon as I can get this belly fat off I'll be a happy camper :dodgy:

Good advice mike!

I always do this and have to get it undercontrol, it's like that lays commercial you just can't have one, and when in front of the t.v. at night i just zone out and eat, plus i won't even burn that off because im sleeping. plus i drink alot of my calories. any way that you could think of me replacing these bad habits with better things? oh and it is kinda hard to bring a snack to class because most of my teachers do not allow an apple into class or whatever that food item may be.

Something my dad told me a friend of his did long ago that I have started doing now is sit and do curls while watching tv. I just use 5 pound weights and I am running also. Trying to lose some weight and build up my cardio for LL. Going to be running with Mike so I will need to be in better shape than I am in now!

The girl in the picture is Jenn. Somehow I always suspected she liked me more when was overweight... call me crazy.... anyways

Yea fellas, spend two years making 6 figures, working 7 days a week, chained to a desk while eating 5,000 calories a day at the age of 24, see what happens.

Nasty stuff.

But for those who are trying to lose weight, I've been through it. I went from 200 pounds at the age of 22, to 330+ pound at the age of 24, back to 210 by the age of 26

Here's a pic from 16 weeks ago, I think it was September 22 http://t.co/yhbefHHk
And a pic from yesterday http://t.co/oegPLiE1

I was AT LEAST 330 in that first pic. I started eating better at the beginning of October, got a scale Oct 21, weighed in at 330. Since then, I've kept up on tue healthy eating amd started riding an exercise bike. I weighed in at 278 this morning. No looking back.

My next goal is to fit comfortably into an XL by LLVI.

NOTE: I realize I look like a douche...

Reading this thread and watching your TechPB vid has definitely got me a bit more interested in dropping some weight. Mike, how did you get motivated to begin your weight loss regimen? I think I've been pretty good about controlling intake, it's the additional output from working out that I need to add.

Like I said in the video, once you are overweight, you are now in the most discriminated against, hated, despised and ridiculed class of people. You will be ignored by people of the other sex, you will be passed over for job interviews, you will be passed over for promotions, you place yourself into a special class of discrimination.

You think women are discriminated against? You think black people, white people, asians, indians, eskimos, or (insert nationality here) are discriminated against?? The one thing they can ALL agree on, is that they ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL hate overweight people, and have NO PROBLEM openly discriminating against them.

If that's not enough motivation to get your nutrition plan in order, I don't know what is.

Guess it's time to head to the gym.

You can't out train a bad diet, remember this

You don't technically NEED a gym to lose weight. I didn't step foot in a gym once when I lost weight. The gym is a tool

An hour in the gym, you are lucky if you burn 400 calories... that's one slice of pizza.

I'd spend 80% of your time, focusing on eating right. Eggs in the morning, chicken breast and broccli for lunch, chicken and broccli for dinner. Start with that

It takes 30 seconds to eat something, that can take 30 minutes to burn off. I can eat a Snickers bar in 30 seconds. I have to walk 3 miles to burn that off, that takes me about 40 minutes.

So just remember, you can't outtrain a bad diet, there is no physical way. Every 5 seconds of chewing, takes 5 minutes of work to burn off.

Point taken.
Guess it's time to head to the gym.

You can't out train a bad diet, remember this

You don't technically NEED a gym to lose weight. I didn't step foot in a gym once when I lost weight. The gym is a tool

I have, just this week, gotten back on the wagon. I have eaten salads and sandwiches for lunch and dinner every day this week. No cheese most of the time. I ate some cookout food yesterday (but I had been planning that for that for over a month and I skipped a meal). I'm just trying to keep myself in line. I love Mexican food of just about any variety. It's so hard to stay away from it. But I can't keep up with the other people I play with so I have to do something and I like paintball more than I like food so I hope it'll be easy.

Sup fellow former fat buddy!
I was that fat guy who couldn't do any pushups. I was pushing 230, had horrible Tri-glycerides levels (900) and 200+ Cholesterol. This picture was a couple months before I went to LL3. I was barely able to play LL because of my weight and asthma

Now I am close to 180. I just finished a fitness test in Georgia this month, and I ran a faster sprint, higher bench, and kept up on the pushup and situps than a lot of the "fit" guys there. I've been working at a fast paced water heater warehouse for the past year. I call it my own personal crossfit workout, especially when we get a truck in with 150 heaters.

sadly this is the newest picture of me, in my old work shirt which does me no justice.
