In Topic: tank sizing

17 November 2013 - 03:23 PM

I'm 6'2 and I bought a 50/4500 ninja because I wanted a "tight feel" and then I got a 68/4500, and now I have a 77/4500 (which I love).  Part of the reason I wanted/needed a bigger tank was because I kept hitting the back of the gun with my mask, also if you have fields that only fill to 3000, you will want the bigger tank.  I would say at minimum you would want a 68/4500.  If you have fields that only fill to 3000 or you are a fan of spoolies then you may want to consider a 77/4500.

In Topic: Need a gear bag

Can you link me to roughly the model you use smurf?  I need a bag that can store a couple guns, a tank, pants, jersey, knee/elbow pads, pack, 6-8 pods, cleats, mask, loader, paint caddie, couple small tackle boxes.

as far as a paintball gear bag goes I was looking at something like this:

In Topic: Axe vs drone vs 2013 reflex

17 July 2013 - 10:56 PM

The drone grips are terrible making the ergos okay.  The axe didn't feel right at all when I held it and it's not much or a looker.  I ended up getting a reflex and a new 77ci tank ha (although mostly because I wanted a bit longer reach)

In Topic: Drone DX vs. Etek 4

17 July 2013 - 10:46 PM

I had an etek 4 and just ditched it for a reflex. And my step brother has a drone.

The etek is essentially a cannon but will never die even when neglected. The shot of the reflex and drone are similar, both considerably softer and quieter than the etek.

The grips on the drone are absolute trash. And the buttons on the board are cheap feeling. The feedback is bomb as hell though. The reflex's feedback is pretty good, but the lt etek's doesn't clamp very well.

I hate the magnet return on the etek's trigger. The drone and reflex are pretty good. The drone has some rubbing so maybe a slight edge to the reflex there.

Maintenance is definitely trickier for the drone and reflex because leaks can sprout out of nowhere. Whereas the etek hardly needs any maintenance.

Modern spools are pretty reliable, if you treat them right they will work.

Exactly if you treat them right they are "pretty" reliable.  You can abuse an etek and it will still love you.

In Topic: 2013 Reflex Rail has the smallest leak ever..

Can't speak for the leak, but I can for the right amount of lube.  You just want it to appear wet, with a thin coating.  Just put a dab on and lightly coat the oring.

I'm confident I have a little more than that (by no means globs) but you can see some lube as opposed to just a wet look.  This is only on the really on the inner o rings and the 020's on the outside  What side effects does using too much lube cause?
