hasn't there been testing from punkworks showing the sweep bolt dosn't have enough of an effect to make a differance on paint trajectory?  Just looking at the apex and flatline it takes pretty drastic measures to be able to make enough spin on the ball to be able to have an effect. Now I'm sure the bolt can play a little bit of a factor with things like being gentle on the ball as to not deform it or provide a nice smooth air path and things like that

The few grand your going to spend in tooling so machine the profile, bore, ream, and hone the barrel. Then you have to have the right fixturing to be able to hold the barrel as true as possible because if its so much as a few thou out its going to blend paint and making this fixturing requires more tooling again and more of your time to make and it also has to be at an even higher tolerance than your barrel. Then after all of that like mentioned above you have to have a large enough lathe which are pretty expensive all by themselves. Then you have to get into threading and your own time invested and the list goes on... It can be done and it is really cool when people do them but unless you are going to make a few barrels and sell them cheap is not the word to use and with the money you would spend on a quarter of this stuff you could go out and buy a very nice top of the line barrel with no headaches.

Can't really see how gun to gun would affect it at all, as long as you are setting the fps to the same chrono gun to gun and using the same barrel those are the two main variables that would affect accuracy?

will for sure be checking out the pbn stuff, and yah I find with CAD programs as long as you know the fundamentals of drafting its just a matter of learning the icons. I am noticeing alot of little things that NX has improved on over other programs I have used and I absolutedly love how they do assemblies.
