A solenoid is what changes the path of air to make the gun shoot. In this case, at rest, the solenoid blocks the air from going to the ram, so the spring holds it back. When you shoot, the solenoid directs air to the back of the ram, pushing it forwards, and hitting the valve. Once the dwell is up, it shuts off the air again allowing the spring to push the ram back to the resting position.

Try the F8 with a different reg first, make sure the battery is new, and if that doesn't solve the problem, you might have to get a new solenoid. Luckily, DP's solenoids are cheap.

pretty sure its the solenoid. checked the reg and took it apart and it was fine. i see a solenoid on dp shop is about $40. could i replace it myself?

get a new solenoid.

edit: also try putting that ion reg on there then try shooting it. it might just be the reg needs to be replaced.

what does a solenoid do? how much would i new one cost?

Ok take apart the reg and check all orings and if they are fine clean and lube the gun and reg. It sounds as if there Is not enough air coming through the reg. How many shots does the f8 have thru it? If it's so many you might need to replace the reg.

less than a case.
